Product Description

Binchotan Charcoal naturally purifies for great-tasting water. Binchotan is known as the highest quality charcoal and is activated through an extremely high burning temperature and a rapid cooling process. Binchotan's alkaline properties reduce water hardness. In addition, it naturally absorbs odor and improves the overall taste of water, leaving you with a fresh glass of water each time. Each stick can be used for about three months. After three months, it can be used as a natural deodorizer, dehumidifier, or broken it into small pieces and placed into your plant soil, creating micro water and air cavities in the soil. Made in the Kishu region in Japan. First use: rinse with water and boil for 10 minutes and let dry. One binchotan charcoal stick is included in a package. Use 1 stick for 1-2 gallons of water. The filtering time is approximately 6-7 hours.

I can taste the difference in the water since using the bichotan! When putting it in a plastic vessel it made the plastic flavor obvious, so I've been keeping it in a glass container and it has helped the drinking water taste much more pleasant. Since you need to wait 6-8hrs or so, it doesn't make enough to last the entire time, but is perfect if kept for making teas and coffees. Remember to boil once every two weeks to reset its effectiveness!

I paired this with a gofiltr which makes the water more ph balanced and love the result. Water tastes clean and pure and still has good minerals.

Very efficient, easy to use, and low cost. I am a repeat customer and look forward to using this brand for years to come. Cost-effective, nothing to install, easy to use, can wrap up and carry in an emergency and utilize it for home treatment. I do follow the instructions of boiling it every two weeks and allowing the stick to dry when not in use and allowing it to sit in the water for 6-7 hours.

These are amazing. They save me from buying bottled water. I was skeptical of them when my daughter said to get them. Truly amazed me.

I’ve been using this charcoal filter for a while now, you can see it’s working by the little air bubbles that come out of the stick. The water tastes really clean and clear.

We love these and use them in our water pitcher to transform tap water into delicious water. We also popped one into the bottom of our Britta and it makes that work even better. Make sure you boil it before you use it and then every once in a while. It will renew it and you will enjoy the difference. I am going by taste on these because we have good tap water that has chlorimide in it and this removes that taste and leaves the water fresh and clean.

Does not remove unpleasant tastes and actually increases particle count and conductivity.

My family and I had our doubts but after following instructions and placing the charcoal in a gallon pitcher we were pleasantly surprised. We were cautious in comparing the charcoal infused water to that of our kitchen faucet, hard water, and we could immediately recognize a crisp and cleaner taste. Im officially replacing my Brita, the replacement costs just about the same and lasts just as long except the binchotan charcoal is biodegradable and a Brita filter is not.

LOVE this charcoal stick. It works extremely well! Our water tastes cleaner, fresher... no chlorine taste. The ultimate bonus is that it come in recyclable cardboard box with no plastic or styrofoam, and the stick itself will eventually be added to our composter. ZERO WASTE

We should have used these a long time ago. An affordable, easy to use plastic free alternative. Plus the charcoal in a glass pitcher is aesthetically pleasing, even on our dining table.

Pricey, but good. Also, fairly brittle, I have it in a water dispenser in the fridge and it's already broken into 2 pieces.
