I needed to put holes in magnetic sheets, like bumper magnets. My sheets were extra thick and a standard drill bit destroyed them. Found these and hoped they worked. First, unlike everything else I've ordered lately, these arrived on time. Packing is terrible and the set is loose in a small baggie. The punches are solid steel and fairly sharp, and when put in a drill press, worked great. I put an extra layer of sheet material on a wood block to protect the bits. Again, they worked good. They tend to "swell" the hole slightly as they cut, but the hole is smooth. Time will tell about durability and They may be difficult to sharpen. So far, very pleased and really grateful they actually delivered as promised. A concept other sellers could learn from.

These items were obtained to assist with installation of retaining clips for our vehicle mats. We encountered no issues drilling the pilot hole so we could expand to allow clip installation. We would recommend as they efficiently drilled cleanly and neatly.

Along with this set of fabric/leather hole cutter bits, I have grommet kit from General Tools with a manual (hammer-driven) punch. That punch has a sharper edge than any of the bits in this hole cutter set. I was cutting a 3/8-inch hole in two canvas bags; one with double-layer canvas, and the other with triple layer reinforced canvas. I was able to get the job done with the 3/8 inch hole cutter bit. I did learn that it is crucial to focus diligently on the bit drilling into the canvas; if you lean the bit away from the perpendicular axis (away from 90º perpendicular to your work surface), the bit will fail to cut the canvas on one side of the circle. Not a show stopper but it is crucial you maintain a perpendicular drilling posture with your drill and bit.

Totally life changing. Clean, easy neat holes. perfect fit, can go through MANY layers of jeans or PU leather, or whatever, can do even two pieces with multiple layers at once to line up holes. How did I ever live without this laboriously exacto knifing holes that still were messier.... Also, these are fully as good as more expensive versions that they sell on sailmaking websites. BUY THEM NOW!.

There may be easier, faster, or better ways of creating holes for grommets but these are the best I have ever used. Clean, sharp, smooth, and perfectly sized, I’m sold on this product for life! Could you please package a “duh†preventative with these, though? Managed to catch part of the main project under the place I meant to make my hole and guess I’ll remember forever more to watch for that “duh†error! Great product and good price.

Cuts quickly, much better than usually somewhat dull hammer punches. Just takes a few seconds and it's done. highly recommend for cutting gasket holes, just throw away kit punches and use these.

These hole cutters will work, but they work a lot better if you sharpen them first. I purchased them to use on 4 to 5 oz vegetable tanned leather and let's just say they practically burned a hole through instead of cut. I took some sandpaper and got them reasonably sharp. Worth the money you pay for them after a few tweaks
