I recently purchased the Liftgate Trunk Lock Actuator compatible with my Ford Edge to replace a worn-out part, and I couldn't be more satisfied. This rear lift gate lock motor works perfectly. The installation was straightforward (so my husband says, lol), and the actuator fit like a glove. Now, the liftgate operates smoothly and securely, just like new. The quality of the product is top-notch, and it's clear that it's built to last. I couldn't open my trunk for the longest time and it was driving me crazy until my husband finally found the right part!If you’re experiencing issues with your liftgate lock, I highly recommend this replacement part. It's reliable, well-priced, and has restored the functionality of my vehicle’s liftgate. Five stars all the way!

UPDATE:I had forgotten I set the car to override the trunk latch switch when we had issues with the original latch. Went into the settings and turned it back on and it all works fine!I made sure to connect both harnesses and give each a little tug to ensure they were connected. The key fob, foot sensor, and dashboard button activates the lift and close, but neither button on the actual trunk will activate the lift/close. The button above the license plate unlatches but does not activate the lift. The button on the hatch to close makes a different one than before and does not activate the closing mechanism.Pulled it apart to double check the connections. I think that part of the switch may be broken. Would like to try a new part, but not sure if I need to send this back first. Will update if I get a replacement.

This part uses three T40 Torx screws. The left and center screws went in perfectly fine but the right one would not screw in. The angle the right hole was drilled would not allow the right bolt to screw in past two turns. I should have just bought an oem part. I got what I paid for!

This is the 3rd time I am purchasing this latch. The first one was purchsed in Jan of 2024 It worked well until May. Then I went to open the rear door and the motor just whirred and the latch would not rlease. I installed number 2 in May and it worked for around 3 weeks then I had the same problem. The warrenty is 12 months so I do not have a problem returning them but it takes a couple of hours to change the unit. I'm suspecting either a defective motor or the cable in the unit has snapped and the motor just free wheels.

Installed in a 2017 Ford Escape. The original would take several attempts to lock. This solved the problem and was 200.00 less than Ford. I found I had to remove the positive battery terminal for approx. 30 sec for the liftgate module to reset/relearn it's end stops and lock function. Works perfectly now.
