My tailgate had been slightly jammed for sometime causing my stock motor to burn out. I’ve been opening in manually for over a year now and kicking myself I didn’t do this sooner. 10 minute install for the motor itself. I also removed my tailgate and reinstalled to be sure it’s aligned and voila. I’m back in action. Even if it only lasts a couple years the price is right.

Bought it arrived sep 18 and installed it in about 10 min. Product worked perfectly until sep 26. 12days later!!! On the 26th I clicked the boy got zero response. Thought maybe was was locked, car was not locked. Last time the part made a noise when I clicked it and it didn’t work this time it didn’t. Took about back sheet and clicked button and was getting zero movement or noise for the piston motor. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT BUY A DIFFERENT ONE!!!!

I was nervous to buy this actuator because it is so much cheaper than the OEM part. It fits in my ‘17 F250 just like the OEM and works with the factory connector.The two plastic pieces that hold the rods that open the tailgate did not fit (blue clips in the photos). I was able to easily swap the factory clips (yellow in the photos) and it seems to work just fine.I just installed it and will see how long it lasts.

This tailgate lock for my 2017 F150 fixed the release issue I was having opening my tailgate. Easy to install took about 15 min total. highly recommend.

The rear tailgate actuator is apparently known to fail commonly. Mine just stopped working. You could hear the relay kick in but the tail gate would not release. Remove the rear tailgate inside panel...8 bolts. Pull off the panel. The actuator is right there. Remove two bolts and unhook the electrical harness and snap open the locks that hold the lock release arms (2 of them), but mark where they sit in the actuator arm snap locks first. Replace with this new unit, reverse installation steps and you are done. Mine has been working flawlessly since then...already a month. Less than half the price from an auto parts store and probably even a quarter of the Ford dealer price!
