Stripping old line off a reel seems to take forever. Just how many yards can you pull off at one time? Then repeat for a hundred or two hundred or more times? This work so fast and easy, just chuck it in your power drill and you a finished in less than 30 seconds. Removing the line from the toll is easy thanks to its take apart design. Undo the wing nut and pull off a nicely coiled bunch of old line. Be sure to recycle it.

I use this device for my construction string lines. The spools I purchase at the hardware store either do not have a keeper or have a junky plastic handle that is difficult to use. This device is easy to use and is very easy to control while winding the string back on. The only issue I have had is that one end has a retainer clip to keep one of the tapered sections in place. This retainer has a tendency to pop off is a little force is applied while winding, so be aware. Otherwise, I like using it and it can handle a little abuse being in the toolbox.

I have had one of these for a long time, and it has always worked easily and reliably. Now I have two, so that I can extend the uses of certain lines by flipping them on the reel. Highly recommended.

What can I say. 2 plastic cones, a metal rod and a wing nut. A bit pricey for what it is but this thing works very good. I could have built my own but hey, time is hard to find and this one will do me just fine for the next 30 years.
