I used this for my throwing ax and it worked great. I only used the metal shims and it was exactly what I was needing. Great price and great item. I would recommend.

In doing some web surfing I learned that TWO wedges should be used to hold a tool head on securely.This set did just that perfectly.

I liked that this came with the ash wedge and two steel keys. I had an old hand axe that needed to be re-hung. After cleaning the old handle up some, I used this kit, took a little linseed oil and worked it into the wedge and into the slot on the handle, then drove the wedge deep into the slot. (More accurately, I drove the handle down onto the wedge on the concrete floor. After trimming, I used the two steel keys to secure the wedge in place. I've had this little hand axe now for 35 years and this little bit of maintenance will give me at least another 35 years out of it, I think.
