I bought this a while ago as a back up incase I needed it and it was a good thing I did. The old one I had worn out and wasn’t opening properly. The one I bought her fits perfectly and sealed great no leaking.

These are stainless steel, which may be overkill because no oil plug ever rusted away on me, steel would be fine as well. However those cheap aluminum ones popular on eBay and amazon are a terrible idea because they tend to twist off in your oil pan and then good luck removing the other half. The magnetic tip grabs iron slivers or dust before they even have a chance to scar the oil pump, whether or not it is fine enough to pass through the filter which is downstream from the pump. And at oil change time you can tell which oils etc cause more wear by how much dust you find stuck on the magnet. Originally bought for a TSX, but ended up using it in a skyactiv 2.0 CX-5, 14mm x 1.5 is a popular size but check fitment for your application. As for the 3 metal sealing washers included, I used one but if there are issues with those leaking as some reported, it is better to get oe style fiber washer from dealer or somewhere rather than risk damage from over tightening. 20-30 ft/lbs is spec for my application, over torquing can permanently damage oil pan threads.

I bought one of these plugs for my engine's oil and another for my manual transmission's oil since neither came with a magnet and both were perfect. The magnet is strong enough to easily pick up fairly large wrenches, so it should do the job well.The only odd thing is the included copper crush washers don't seem to be particularly soft. Neither plug is leaking, but both got quite tight within about 1/8 of a turn after bottoming out if that without much crush, so I can see why a couple people have complained about leaks if their oil pan's sealing surface isn't totally smooth and flat since the included crush washers seem pretty hard.

My 23 year old F150 drain plug was started to show its age with heavily worn threads. This was an attractive replacement for under $8 (October 2024) and the magnet was an added bonus. I like that a few extra copper sealing washers were included, however they seem to be harder than the ones I usually use.
