I have a 2007 NBS Silverado 2500HD crew/LB I use for work and pleasure. In both cases I tow or haul significant loads and have encountered trans temps approaching 230+ degrees in some situations. Having been a long time user of a Mag-Hytec deep pan and axle cover on my '89 Dodge W-250 Cummins, I figured it was time to make the same upgrades to the Chevy. When pulling my 8000+ pound travel trailer through the Pocono Mountains and elsewhere with long, steep hills on hot summer days, rarely will temps go higher than 210 degrees worse case, an easy 20 degree improvement from stock. Overall temps hover lower in daily use as well. The sealing means on this pan make for a totally leak-free installation. Fluid capacity is increased by roughly 4 quarts over the standard pan. The heavy braced construction of the pan adds to the structural rigidity of the trans case, a plus for high horsepower engines and modified transmissions. It is important you replace the stock filter with an Allison Deep Sump Filter P/N 29537966 when using this pan, the original filter is not long enough to reach the bottom of the pan, and the filter needs to rest on the floor of the pan to retain it in the valve body. If this part is not installed, the shallow pan filter will eventually drop from the valve body causing fluid cavitation and very expensive transmission damage. This is a very simple and effective upgrade for your transmission that can help it last longer under heavy duty usage.

Great upgrade for my truck. I love the pan and easy installation. Quality product and looks good on the truck. Had questions about installation regarding which filter I needed to use with this pan and phone support at Mag Hytec was very helpful. This fit perfectly on my 2015 GMC Sierra 2500HD Duramax.

Is a bit of a messy job removing the old one and not slopping transmission oil all over ,but this cover is extremely well made and the install was very simple. One thing I recommend! !! A long T handle Allen wrench. A standard Allen wrench (supplied) is a nightmare to install and tighten down. A Allen head socket would be best! ! Especially when tightening town the bolts to 12-16 foot pounds with a torque wrench as recommended. The O ring seal works perfectly, but some blue lock tite,and the proper torque it will seal right up. Just make sure you buy a deep sump filter or a standard filter will fall off and cause transmission failure. A second set of hands would have made a world of help too.
