Swapped out points on a 1963 Ford Econoline Truck with an inline 6 cylinder 200. Took me about 30 minutes mainly because of how hard it is to work on the dizzy and reach the coil from the doghouse. Ran great, but in fairness, it was running fine with the points too.

This was a great way to replace the old points for my 170 cu. in. Ford six. The installation took me no time at all. Remove the old points system, mount the ignitor, snap the magnet ring on the dist. shaft and use the supplied gap spacing tool and tighten the screw down. Throw the rotor and cap back on and land 2 wires and you're done. It fired up on the first crank and runs much smoother and is now RELIABLE!

If you have a 1966 Mustang, 6 Cylinder, GET THIS ONE NOT THE 1261!!! That is, if you have the original NON-California car. This took me about 15 minutes to do, and works like a champ! Also, LEAVE THE PLASTIC PIECE ON. I'm referring to the black piece that you have to gap. Also, if you want it to look stock, I took a thick guage black wire, took the wire out, and ran these two wires through it. Just trying to keep it stock looking. I really do wish I would have done this sooner, and the car runs sooooo smooth now, and starts right away. I did keep my points and condenser in the trunk, just to be safe.

if you are looking to replcae your points and not break the bank then this is the plan for you.simple to install and hook up. once adjusted the the correct gap it firs every time and no need to replace them points again.from start to finish time it took me about 10 min. to complete.once installed i rechecked the timming to make sure it was set. mine was off a little because ofthe adjustments made with the existing points. i reste top dead center by pulling the no.1 plug and rotating the motor over by hand till no.1 was on compression stroke and the rotor pointed to the no.1 plug wire on the distrubter. started the car and did the fine tuning advancement till motor smoothed out. this process took about 20 min. so total time about 30min.

Good price. Easy to install. Car starts a little easier now. Put it on a 64.5 mustang with a 170 six. Downside was that it is not adjustable.
