Your cart is empty.The floor plate extension allows you to connect the floor plate to your gas key valve through thicker installations such as the block around gas fire pits. This extension is 12 inches total length and is cuttable in 1 inch increments down to a minimum length of 6 inches. Fits all Midwest Hearth gas key valves. 1/2-Inch female fitting. Includes 12" threaded poly pipe and galvanized coupler. Does not include valve, floor plate, or other components.

Ordered an extension for a fireplace I was building along with several other related items. After installing the extension, I realized that the inside was blocked with excess plastic from the injection molding process and it is unusable. It will require some demolition of my fireplace to fully remove and replace it. :(

Would work great IF it were 3/4" for the thread for gas cutoff. This tube is 1/2" thread, so you have to get a 1/2" to 3/4" adapter on both ends. Even then, inside is too thin to even allow for the key to squeeze through. Waste of money.

2 major complaints:- it is poorly made and breaks very easy- inside of pipe had blemishes that would not allow the key to enter.Didn’t realize this until after I installed it. Went to uninstall it and it broke.

It would have been nice if the description mentioned the minimum length the extension works is 6â€. Yes it’s 12†long and you can cut it down BUT there are only 6 removable segments 1†each. The base valve is 3†and I needed 7†but you can’t cut this at 4 inches because the segments are tapered pipe thread and can’t be screwed into coupling or escutcheon backwards. The extension option are 6â€-12†in 1†increments.

Pictures suggest this comes with a black floor plate. It does not. It is only the extension tube. Disappointing and sets my project back while I wait on a floor plate now.

Not how I am going to make this work. There is a plastic blockage inside that prevents a key from passing through.
