I wish there was a way to more finely control the angle at which the thing sits, but overall it works great. It's steady enough to hold my drawing tablet while I draw on it, which is more than I expected. Suitably heavy duty.

I have a 1 inch thick base to my laptop with a slanted lip. I was initially concerned the 7/8 inch tall tabs on the bottom would not secure the laptop well enough. Fortunately the mount has two attachment configurations, allowing for a flat or tilted forward mount. Using the flat configuration I feel very secure that my laptop will stay in place. My laptop is also heavy, almost 9lbs, so the 4/5 stars is due to the fact that the attachment on the vesa plate only uses the top 4 screw holes. I assume these are the top two from the 100x100 and the top two from the 75x75 sizes. This doesn't feel quite as sturdy as I might like, but time will tell. Another review mentioned the side arms not moving easily, and I agree, but it is not a large inconvenience, and actually makes me feel a little more secure. I definitely recommend this product.

I'm satisfied with the Mount-It laptop holder, and would recommend it as a good value. There could be a few minor improvements. The installation manual has a notice in 8 languages on the back page advising to read it entirely. But the instructions have no words, just pictures. They are fairly easy to follow, but some words would be nice, or maybe a link to their website.The side holders can be relocated to leave ports accessible. It would be nice if the location of the bumpers on the front could be changed as my SD card slot is blocked, but it can folded down out of the way. Heads on the mounting screws could be a bit larger as I considered using washers. Designed in the USA; made in China. The warranty card says that customer service is US based, but I don't anticipate calling as it seems well made and holds my laptop securely.

Deceptive advertising. The product is INLY THE TRAY, there is no mount provided as it implies on the various photos. At first I thought I was missing parts till I noticed the various types of mounts in the instructions were all shown with dotted lines and half-toned so I realized you have to buy the actual wall mount separately.It would be helpful if the product description would indicate this. I’m not in the business of installing these things so there’s no way I could have known that.

Good quality. Nothing fancy. Not too heavy, not too flimsy. The best things I can say about this is that there are two positions available to mount to the monitor arm (naturally i chose the wrong one initially), which is fantastic, and most importantly the clamp arms are adjustable so you can still use any critical ports (or in my case the integral card reader) without them being blocked.

I needed this to be able to type lying on my back. I'm a writer and my laptop is my lifeline, but I'm disabled with severe chronic pain. I had to use zip ties to keep the laptop in place on this thing, along with an additional clamp at the bottom, and my laptop isn't any larger than recommended. Still, it didn't seem to be any worse than any of the others I saw on here, and much better than it landing on my head whilst trying to work. Bad enough when my phone hits me in the face.

My Mac Book Pro 15" keeps falling off. They should've provided equivalent straps to hold the bottom of the laptop as they've provided on the sides.Also, the side straps can be made more strong to hold the laptop in place so it doesn't slide off downwards due to minor vibrations while typing.
