My dog acts like I am trying to amputate a limb whenever we attempt to touch her paws. I've tried every "gentle" nail trimmer/clipper option out there and she's hated every single one. The vet has even commented on her "scary" nails because she won't let us get near them. Then we bought this thing! It took probably 20 minutes to train her to use it. She thinks it's a fun game and now she's not walking around with hawk talons. Seriously the only thing that's ever worked. Tried it with our younger dog (who is, generously, the Pinky to her Brain) and he picked it up just as fast.Effective, easy to use, well-made, and it came with replacement grip tape. Money VERY well spent

Surprisingly works pretty well for my chihuahua with long sharp nails, although it did take me sitting there and pulling the tray out to reward him when he scratched for him to learn. he kept using his nose to lift it up from the bottom, so it’s not something you’d want to leave for them to use alone. it worked well to make his nails less sharp but would take longer to make them short. the little tray doesn’t click in, so it slides out really easily and i had to hold it to get him to actually scratch and not just pull it out in one try.

The LovIntry M-Shaped Dog Scratch Pad is a total lifesaver! My dog absolutely hates having her paws touched, and nail clippers completely freak her out. This scratch pad has been the perfect solution for her front paws! She loves using it, and it helps keep her nails trimmed without any stress or struggle. The design is clever and sturdy, making it easy for her to use while also providing a satisfying scratch. It's been a game-changer for us, and I’m so happy to have found it. Highly recommend it for any dog with paw sensitivity!

It didn’t take long for my dog to learn how to use the board, he likes treats. I’ve been using the board regularly for the last couple weeks and it does shorten his claws. I will say it doesn’t get the dew claws. I still have to use a file on the front of his claws to soften the edges and there are flakes of claw that have to be removed. I’m trying to keep my dog’s claws trimmed by not using a clippers as he doesn’t like to get them clipped, this is working for the front. To train my dog I laid the board on the floor and put a treat under it and encouraged him to scratch it, once he scratched it I lifted it for the treat. The last time I used the board I didn’t have to place a treat under it he just scratched and then I would give him a treat. I haven’t figured out how to train him to scratch his hind feet on it yet. I have a small dog and use the side that didn’t have the scratch paper on it. I cut one of the extra sheets that it comes with and placed it on the other side. If anyone has suggestions on how to get a dog to scratch with it’s back feet on the board please let me know.

I ordered the scratch pad without the treat door based on other reviewers recommendations and I’m glad I did. This one is very strong and sturdy and my dog got the hang of it in minutes with treats. We tried everything to cut our labs nails and nothing worked. Our vet said the only other option would be to sedate him to do his nails. The vet assistant told us she bought one of these from Amazon so we thought we’d give it a shot. So glad we did!

We ordered this m-shaped scratcher as an upgrade from his flat training version. The flat has lasted over a year and held up beautifully. This one failed on day one. I believe this is because the large version is only offered with a treat tray. The tray is made of plastic and the sandpaper doesn’t stick at all well. I think the product would be excellent without the tray; however, they don’t seem to offer that option in the large size. This product had such potential! I’m left disappointed because of a treat drawer I didn’t want or need. The pictures are after 60 seconds of use by the big guy in the last photo. He used it appropriately the entire time. The scratch marks are absolutely to be expected. The sandpaper peeling up and off the plastic is not acceptable.

This came in very neatly packaged, comes with extra grit paper and sticky tabs, instruction manual, and the board itself! I was impressed with how well made the board is (see pictures). What I did was grabbed some treats because my dog is treat motivated, told him commands for paw, and he got the hang of it very quickly! He hates anyone, even me touching his paws so this is a great solution! I did give him small training treat after every paw he did, then for doing both paws. I’ll eventually keep lowering the treat amount because it did take awhile having to award with treats and make sure he was actually getting his nails filed enough. My next obstacle is doing his hind paws🤔🤣.

I regret this purchase for a number of reasons. Key takeaway: the compartment edge catches on my dog's nails with every use. I attempted to retrofit the design flaw by supporting the compartment lid below and then removing the compartment lid all together. Nothing solved the issue. Maybe the other design would work better, however I do think it's worth remembering you will get black sandpaper flecks during use on your floor and possibly ingested by your dog. Lastly, I purchased this as "like new" meaning only the outside package had minor cosmetic damage. When it arrived the item was clearly used with scratches and some hair already stuck on the item. I wanted to avoid landfill waste so I kept the item but regretting it and I hope this prevent another person from making the same mistake.

I haven’t used it with my dog yet hence will report on that later. This board is thick and sturdy as well as larger than expected. I have a small 11 lbs rescue Chiweenie and the foster said she used similar but with the flat one with a treat box l, so I’m confident she will use it. The flat board only filled her 2 front middle nails as per my observation so I trust this one will help with all 4 nails. Let see, I will update in a bit.

What a brilliant idea and high quality product. It has been super easy to train my dog to “dig†the board and it’s provided an easy to use interim option to keep my dog’s nails filed while I reintroduce nail clippers after accidentally nicking a quick. The curved design helps to address the outside nails. Fortunately, my dog will allow me to trim his rear feet nails. Highly recommend this product. Sandpaper is nice and course and there are extra sheets provided.

After using a homemade flat scratchcard, this m shaped board is much better as it catches more claws. The dogs love using it and it is sturdy ( I have biggish dogs) . I am happy to use this for large/giant breed dogs too. It can be double sided which is useful to have different grade sandpaper (one for grinding, one to smooth). Excellent
