Did a good job at hasping, I haven't tried but I bet it would be pretty tough to snap it in hasp I mean half.

I bought this hasp to replace one on my outdoor storage shed. The size was perfect and is very well made. However, the supplied screws were a joke. They are perhaps #8 x 3/4" - 1" Not very robust for providing any type of real security once installed. Luckily, I had a supply of #12 x 1 1/2" wood screws which gave me much more peace of mind. Ideally, you should use machine type screws with washers and bolts on the other side for really good security. But, since I don't have much in the way of valuables in the shed, what I have works for me.

this was easy to install on a wooden box that I have. The screws were the right length and went into the wood easily.

I purchased this latch for the box my husband made for my Singer Featherweight 221 Sewing Machine. It’s gold like the other hardware, looks nice & holds the lid closed when I pick the box up which the machine inside. I’d recommend it.

Some of the pre drilled holes on hardware are off a bit. Installed nice and looks pritty good.
