Does fantastic job on tomatoes, even those that are not very firm. No more odd shaped end cuts, useable, even slices every time. Cheese, small onions, Spam, etc, does a great job. Highly recommend. Blades are very sharp, need to be careful who handles it. Do not try with hard items, i.e. potatoes. We tried to slice Russets for home-fries and broke to blades out of slicer.

The product came fully assembled; all I had to do was remove it from the package, and it cut a tomatoes very easily and in perfect sizes!

I loved this slicer...at first. However the first time I did use it, I cut tomato slices...terrific...then..SOFT cheese BUT one of the blades came loose and then I noticed it had been bent. I did manage to get it back in place but the blade is crooked. I can still use it but I am disappointed that this happened after a ..first...time use. I DID use soft cheese. Maybe the blades just weren't as stable as they should have been but at least I can still slice tomatoes with it....I'm a perfectionist and when I look at the crooked blade.....I get "bothered."

I purchased this product specifically and only for the purpose of slicing tomatoes. That was unfortunate because it could not perform its primary stated function. ALL of the tomatoes that I attempted to slice were nicely firm, and NOT soft or squishy, yet this tool did a very poor job of slicing them.The problem was that its blades were too thin AND/OR made of a lessor quality metal...possibly also not sharp enough to boot. What this meant was that a firm tomato would cause them to flex to such an extreme degree that they would bend/bow so far out of true that they would cut into the plastic dividers and shave fine plastic shavings (and not so fine little chunks) from the top edges and sides of said dividers. I was so angry about this, and the cost of this piece of junk was so low, that I did not even bother to seek a refund. Instead, I included it in one of my donations to the Salvation Army or Red Cross. I will never purchase a tool made by this manufacturer, again. (I wish I had taken a picture of the gouges/slices/shavings that the bowed blades had made in the plastic dividers so readers/potential customers could just see how much a piece of junk this product was.)
