I live in the northeast and winter time is brutal on musical instruments. The easiest solution would be a dedicated room with a humidifier but most folks (myself included) don’t have that as an option. I have tried a lot of different products and I really find these Oasis units to be my favorite. In the past, I had always used the blue ones but I thought I would give the Plus+ Humidifier a try.To keep track of everything I have digital thermometer/hygrometer units from both Extech and Traceable. They monitor the ambient conditions and I have the small transmitters in the guitar cases which send the data to the base stations (see photos) so I can monitor the guitars without opening the cases. .As I am writing this, the current humidity level is 16% - yeah, it’s dry. The current humidity level in the guitar case with this Oasis is 30%. Granted, I wouldn’t mind seeing that number a bit higher, but nothing else I have ever tried has given me 14% over the ambient conditions. By comparison, another guitar is reading 28% and it has TWO of the long green DAMPIT units in it.I have been using this Oasis Plus+ for roughly four weeks now. I haven’t really noticed any great difference between this one and the original blue one. The numbers seem to be following roughly the same trends although I never documented the past numbers. I may try adding a second one of these to see how much the numbers come up. In these current conditions, I find that I am refilling it every three days whereas the Dampit units are dry within two days and it takes two of them to get close to what one of these is doing. One thing that I have found helpful is not waiting until the air is dry to put my humidifiers in. As soon as the seasons start to change and I notice the slightest drop in ambient humidity (I also have a sensor outdoors), I put the humidifiers in. Otherwise, one is trying to “catch up.†Oasis does sell a humidifier/hygrometer pack which I reviewed some time ago. The hygrometer really is not that accurate and it requires opening the case up just to check the reading. Since I don’t use every guitar every day, I prefer to keep them closed up in these conditions as much as possible; hence, the transmitters. In closing, whether one chooses the blue original or the Plus+, I like these Oasis units. They hold a lot of water, and do a good job. I recommend them.

I have five high-end guitars and I use these to humidify them to perfect humidity.. about once every 6 months you have to switch out the beads that are inside of them or just replace the whole thing. But when you spend a couple thousand plus dollars on a guitar,it's an investment..great product..I refill them once every 4 days with distilled water

It's very important to humidify your acoustic guitars during the winter due to exposure to dry indoor heat. This is a very effective, easy to use product. I bought four of them; one for each of my instruments. The manufacturer recommends that you use distilled water, I assume because the chemicals in regular tap water have an effect on the crystals. I picked up a gallon of distilled water at Target for about a dollar. I found that I have to refill every three or four days, but if you want to keep your instrument in good shape, that's not such a big deal.

Humidifiers are typically advertised for acoustics but I had a floyd rose Ibanez get absolutely trashed by the Utah climate. The dryness of the air and frequent temperature changes warped the wood so bad that the floyd rose wouldn't floyd rose anymore. Took it to a guitar repair shop and they were like "yeah bro, this probably isn't fixable". But they filled a couple of these up and stored them in my guitar case for about a week and were able to salvage at least the use of the guitar by bending the truss rod and neck back into place and said it was purely due to these adding moisture back to the wood. Now I use a whole room humidifier in my apartment because I like keeping my guitars out of their case so I'll be incentivized to play them, but if I'm ever traveling, I ALWAYS have one of these in my cases with my electric guitars.

I’m a performing guitarist living in the northeast. Indoor relative humidity levels can be lower than in the Sahara Desert. I have a modest collection of valuable guitars that normally stay in a humidity controlled display cabinet, but when I travel to perform I use Oasis humidifiers to keep my instruments safe. I also have an acoustic bass that’s too large to fit in the cabinet so I rely on Oasis to keep it at the right humidity level.

The oasis humidifier system works better for me in the dry Arizona climate. This last three times as long as the other brands of sponge type sound hole humidifier ms I’ve owned.Quick tip: don’t let them completely dry out as the sides of the tube can stick and crack over time

Used mostly for guitars on a rack but works in a case also. Has never dripped. Simple to use. They make two models, get the one for you. Simple to use. Fits any acoustic guitar. High quality, will last years. Functions very well. A bit pricey but my favorite among similar units.

I rec'd this and was quite impressed. Seems to work and I like the way it works. Maybe consider some sort of bundling for future purchases. Seems to be a little expensive so I think they should consider bundlings with better pricing.tksRick
