My first impression was that these pastels didn’t transfer well to Strathmore pastel paper, but I realized a few things - there are a few hard places on some of the pastels, but you can peel back the label and work from the other end. In addition, I used fine sandpaper to sand down the inexpensive pastel paper and that helped as well. I also used 91% alcohol on some of my “paintings†to paint over some areas to preserve the color a bit. It dulled down the color some, but also made the colors less likely to be affected by rubbing.I removed the trays from the box except for one tray on top and I added some rice to help keep the colors clean. I also use a wide elastic band to secure the box.I’m having so much fun!What a great portable way to create vibrant art! These are very nice pastels, They have a smooth consistency and are easy to apply to different surfaces. I bought them twice.

I made the mistake of purchasing these thinking they were oil pastels and not chalk pastels. I searched oil pastels, and these were recommended. I failed to read the title to verify that the search results were correct.I like chalk pastels so I wanted to try them, and 2 broke almost immediately. I don’t want to blame the product. The product feels durable. I blame the shipping. The package was loose in the box without enough padding.The color brightness is nice. They layer well. They blended well with the proper tools. The color fades a bit if you aren’t using a sponge tool to blend. The fall out is excessive so cover areas you want to stay white. The paper provided tore when I tried to remove my washi tape so use other paper.

I bought this set due to the variety of colors it comes with. I am a novice when it comes to pastels and had a starter set from the local art supply store, but found it hard to blend them to achieve the right color. I found it extremely difficult to work with the paper supplied in the box. The texture of the white paper samples was too rough and would present white dimples throughout the drawing. I tried both sides of the paper and one was more textured than the other. I found it difficult for the pastels to adhere to the paper no matter how hard I pressed. I drew the boat with a thicker weighted paper with a slight rough surface and had better success. I also found you get a much deeper and fuller tone when you break off and crush a piece of the color you want to use and use your finger to blend. Great pastels to learn with which are also stored easy enough to remove from the box. I would buy them again.

I'm happy with these for the price. I bought them so I could practice and not waste my expensive pastels. They seem fairly opaque and the lights easily go over the darks. They blend well, they are soft. I will purchase more when I'm out of them.

Reçu ce set complet très bien emballé et certi dans sa boìte. La taille des pastels est standard ce qui est plutôt bien pour le prix. Je recherchais un nouveau réassort complet pour compléter mes senneliers. C'est une gamme complète de 72 pastels disponibles pour moins de 30 euros et sans rogner sur la qualité. Le format carré est intéressant à pratiquer. Les pigments sont beaux et vifs. À manipuler avec douceur car ces bâtons sont de texture légère. Un cadeau idéal à offrir. Je recommande.

This is a lovely set of pastels, with a good range of colours. I'm not sure, though, why the listing claims they are extra-long because they're actually just the standard size. Maybe there was a translation issue, and what the vendor meant to say was that they are full-length. Anyway, it's a minor detail.The pastels are very easy to use, lay down a decent amount of colour, and blend very well. They're probably not as pigmented, nor quite as soft, as the more expensive brands I've used in the past but for my mixed media pieces, they are more than adequate.The sheets of card were an added bonus, and happily, unlike some reviewers' experiences, my pastels all arrived intact, with zero breakages.
