If this is helpful let me know by clicking the link below! ThanksThis puller is very well built and sturdy. I used it to replace the pitman and idler arms on a 2005 Chevy Avalanche, and I could not be happier with its performance. I was able to remove the pitman without loosening the steering box, which I was told was not possible. There was just enough space to pull it off with this tool. Not only was it possible, but this pitman puller made short work of the job. It pulled the pitman from the steering shaft quite easily without any sort of hammering or abuse. It also removed the ball end from the center link with ease. I was a little hesitant to spend this much on a pitman puller, but I'm very glad I did, and I definitely recommend this puller. I used this on a 2005 Chevy Avalanche 1500 2WD, however, numerous year/model Chevy/GMC Trucks, SUVs, and Van's use the same or very similar pitman and idler arms and I would expect similar results. As a side note, I used a 3/8 drive electric impact gun on it and it did not damage the threads of the puller at all, and made the job very quick and easy.

I broke a cheaper puller so I bought this since it’s Forged instead of cast. My pitman arm was 1/3 rusted and fused onto my 25year old steering gear but this baby got it off! Needed a breaker bar and pipe but this held up. Buy once cry once.

This tool is designed for a single job and it does it well. Granted, I've only used it once, but the ease in which it pulled off the pitman arm was pretty impressive. I was expecting a big fight to get the arm of my 50-year-old steering box but it just came right off. No impact wrench, hammering, or penetrating oil needed. It slipped right over the arm, I put some torque on the nut, and the arm was off in 10 seconds. It seems sufficiently built, has good weight, and the torque "bolt" has a nice convex point on the end to make sure it's centered on your steering box. Unless you're a full-time mechanic you'll probably only use this tool a handful of times in your life, but it's worth the small asking price. And for those curious, mine was marked as "Made in Taiwan", but the quality seems more than adequate for the intended use.

This is top quality here! Solid construction! Should be the only one you'll ever have to buy for removal of Pitman Arms on 01 silverado.Read reviews and find out those cheap ones snap and then you gotta buy another one so you end up spending more money in the long run.Put it in the Metal tool box with all the OG US gear pullers

When I was looking for a good tool to remove my pitman's arm, I noticed not one was listed as "it will work" or fit my Dodge Truck. Well, I took a chance with this tool and found this tool works just great with some small modifications to the tool and the help with a BFH, Big (F%%*&EN) Hammer. If you don't use Impact-drive with the help from a BFH during removal, as other amateurs have, you will not get this (Big Boy) Pitman off!For this tool to work, I had to grind off about a 1/16" off to both ears that fit around the steering box output shaft diameter, the shaft that connects to the pitman's arm.I hope this helps!

Broke the first time I used it. Didn’t use an impact. Just a breaker bar. Still didn’t get the pitman arm off. Would not recommend.

Had an EXTREMELY stubborn Pittman arm to remove, so stubborn in fact it broke an OEM tool. This tool arrived quickly and got the arm off in style! Took a bit to get enough pressure but once achieved it basically fell off ... a little anti climactic as I was expecting a pressure explosion! All in all VERY happy I was able to get this tool and the Pittman arm off my 2001 XJ.
