Seems like ok quality on mild steel. Haven’t used on anything harder. Good value for cost

I bought the 8†5 piece machinist file set. They look good and cut really well. I have never owned a good set of files and now understand why it is worth spending a bit more. I was disappointed that there is no marking on the files or on the box showing where the files are made. They only say “Made by Pferd†but was hoping for confirmation that these are genuine made in Germany.

The majority of people think that files wear away the material on which they are applied. If that's what you're doing, then you files are not sharp. Files cut materials just as a knife does. Find yourself a copy of "The Sensuous Gadgeteer" to learn how a file works.These files are excellent. Each edge is sharp and the pattern is uniform. The handles fit the hand well. If you treat them well (including storing the where they won't rust), they should last a lifetime.

Good quality files. They are a rare commodity now days. The cut on these isn't extremely aggressive but they hold there sharpness well and do a fine job.

These cost twice as much as the cheap Chinese set I bought before, but they are far better quality. I would recommend them to anyone looking for good files at a reasonable price.
