Was surprised when I received this to see that it was so well made. The metal latch was stronger than I expected. The reflective stitching is thick enough that it reflects very well. The metal prongs are strong and easy to manipulate (as with any prong collar, they sometimes get tangled). And, the icing on the cake, the hot pink with reflective silver stitching matches her hot pink and reflective silver non-fabric regular collar perfectly!!!! Bottom line, WELL WORTH BUYING and WOULD BUY IT AGAIN!

I've used these before and they csn be very effective if used properly. I have a German shepherd/Tibetan mastiff mix that has incredible pulling strength and is a little reactive at the moment, once she got used to it this collar let me be bale to walk her again and work on training without her ripping the leash out of my hands if she saw something. Prong caps are easy to put on and help keep her neck protected, the prongs are always harder to squeeze together but my bf managed. You do not need to pull on the leash at all, as soon a she gets to the end it'll tighten and she will pull back on her own I csn walk her loose-leash now and made a huge diference. I picked this particular style because of the fabric clippable part at the back, makes getting on and off alot easier as they don't like the prongs going over the head/ears etc.

I had bought both the large and medium size collars for two Goldens. Overall, the collar is a very good quality, it retracts appropriatly, and the latch is metal vs. plastic for extra security. The prong links are very sturdy and not too difficult to remove/add, however, they are big and thick. This collar might be too heavy or uncomfortable If you have a small or light weight dog.

We have tried a harness, gentle leader in combination with training classes to stop or at least lessen the extreme pulling our yellow Labrador retriever did when walking him. The harness didn’t make any difference. He pulled me along just as much when he didn’t have it on. The same with the gentle leader, which we had to buy another because the first one broke within the first few months! Numerous times he pulled so hard that we were hurt. This is the ONLY collar that he ABSOLUTELY does not and will not pull when he’s on his leash. I can tell he knows it’s on and now doesn’t even attempt to pull! It’s soooooooo strong, sturdy and easy to put on and take off. This collar is a NECESSITY if you have a dog that pulls. And will keep you and others safe!

Purchased for my 2 80lb German Shepherds. Got mediums for them both and they fit great, with room to loosen with the extensions provided. I love the clasp, great alternative to manually taking apart the prongs like the old style. I’m using the rubber prong covers for both dogs and still getting great results and control. Extremely happy with the collars, no issues with rubbing or painful pinches, just contact and pressure when needed.

Materials that this is made out of are very good in my opinion. Very strong, should be durable. Looks nice.Things that could use rethinking:The quick release is ineffective as you have to first unhook the leash and then the "quick release". Typically a quick release would release either the leash or the dog quickly. This one only does that if you are removing the collar without the leash. (Misnomer)The biggest issue is that the sewing at the square ring in the middle was folded out instead of folded in. The reason this matters is that when you have a dog pulling on the collar and it tries to slide to a close, it will be stopped by this ridge that is created by this fabric being folded outward. Which is where all the pressure will be. This will only get worse with use as the ridge will grow with wear.I hope they are able to make these minor changes as this I believe would be an otherwise great collar!

While the materials are fine, the metal loop that the nylon band rings through is too small and the band does NOT move freely through. This means that the "pinch" works but the tension on the collar does not release. This is a big problem and I am returning it for this.

I previously had a pinch collar for my German Shepherd that he out grew. The cost of purchasing this collar was comparable to the cost of purchasing additional links for the collar that he outgrew. I really appreciate that this collar has a buckle, negating the need to take the link apart each time the collar is donned or doffed. I train him with pinch collars and he is very responsive. Also eliminates concerns of him ripping my arm off when he decides to chase something.

The prongs on this collar may be suitable for a large dog but are way too big - making the collar too heavy for a golden doodle.
