I had a jegs ring filer that needed a new wheel. As I searched for the replacement wheel I came across this one, which was about the same price as just a replacement wheel. So far I’ve used it to build 3 LS engines, and don’t see why it won’t do many more!

I haven’t used it yet, but the construction and overall quality seems to be all there. It’s a good little budget ring filer.

Used this to rebuild an LS engine. Worked great and got the job done, but took a lot of work and time. You will get faster with it the more you use it. Make sure you use the mount points to put it on a solid surface. Makes the work a lot easier. Don't be fooled, you'll have to put in some time and energy in using this, but the product does exactly what it promises for a lot less money than the automatic setups. The handle is a little awkward to use and can make your hand cramp up a bit because of its size, otherwise I'd give it 5 stars. Great product.

Worked great when I attached a cordless drill to it. I had to File To Fit 16 piston rings and had to remove 0.020 on each ring. If I had done it with the hand crank, it would have taken me all day. I removed the handle, attached a screw where the setscrew was and chucked it into the drill. Ran it at a reasonable speed and it work great. I used a silver pen marker on the gap edge of the ring so I could gauge how much to remove. I'm not recommending you do the same because if you mess things up, don't blame me but I'm sure you can figure it out anyway.

Ordered by accident on another order. Used it once and found it to be easy to use but not as nice as my power ring filer. Great for hobby builder looking for quality ring gapping at a good price

I recently rebuilt my Porsche engine and needed a ring filer to get the ring gap correct. Even with this filer mounted to a solid surface it was a little clunky and difficult to use. The handle position makes it difficult to avoid hitting the ring while turning the handle. I wish it had a gear drive to offset the handle further away. Even better would be an adapter that would allow it to be connected to a Dremel or drill. Other than the awkwardness the filer did exactly what I needed. I was able to get clean filed edges and perfect gaps. Since it is something that I only use every few years I can't complain too much.

I was pleasantly surprised by this little grinder. Once clamped onto the work bench, the pins keep the rings aligned so you get a square cut which is critical for gapping rings. The manual crank allows you to control just how much you grind off at a time.The disc was a tad uneven initially but after a few rings it smoothed out on that part of it. Then rings ground smoothly and evenly, I did not even need to sand the burrs off, there were none leftover!I wish I had got this grinder years ago on other builds. Take my advice, get this grinder and make your life a lot easier!!

I used the ring filler on my LS3 416 build. The manual filler did the job just fine. I was filling 1.2 mm stainless steel hardened nitrated top rings and 1.2 mm cast iron rings without any issues.I recommend this product.

Well I rebuilt my engine and sized all the piston rings according to spec using this little tool. It works fairly quickly you just have to pay attention to what you're doing and then make sure you of course de-burr the ring afterwards. There's probably other ways to do it but for the price this thing does the job well. It's not super high quality construction but it's good enough for the job.

Can be difficult to hold the ring flat against the tool, but with enough effort it works well. The disk it came with seemed to be worn down after 2/4 rings. It got the job done, but I think I would suggest a better grinding disk if planning on using for more than just a 4cyl.

First product in writing a review on. But I was skeptical over how well it would work. But it worked great, just make sure you take your time when filing. At first it went slow after the first couple rings though the disc got broken in and was more aggressive. So make sure you take lots of measurements until you get to the desired gap.
