I have been gardening for many years, and I finally gave the seed germination pads a shot. I am so pleased and will never sprout seeds without it ever again! Here is a great example of how much these pads add to success of germination: I planted asparagus seeds and the package said that germination take quite a bit of time, expect two months. Well...my asparagus seeds on the seed pad look LESS THAN 2 WEEKS to sprout!! If you are a gardener and don't have these pads, do yourself a favor and invest in them!

Been using these a few weeks & I like that they are smooth. I did receive delivery of another brand that looked identical in the product pictures but when I got it, that other product was rippled from the heating element inside & did not lay flat. So I am very happy these are smooth & lay flat.When in use the warmth feels good to my touch; not hot. These are definitely worth trying. And if next year they are still in good working order I will give them 5 stars.

Each mat fit (2) 36 count seed trays, so 144 in total on the 2 mats. It recommends putting 3 seeds per tray so plenty of capacity to start a whole lot of seedlings. It raises the temperature between 10-20 degrees depending on how cold/warm the room is, and whether you have any sort of dome over the tray.

I grow almost all of my crops from seeds that I’ve started at home. I live in USDA Plant Hardiness Zone 6B, so that means that all of my seeds need to be started indoors. My largest room doesn’t have air vents, so that means that I either need to use a grow tent or a seedling heat mat.These mats are comparable to the other heating mats that I’ve used in the past. All of the directions are located on top of the mat and even includes a general guide for a few of the more popular crops, along with the approximate germination days for each.Overall, this set of two seedling mats are a nice product and one that I will continue to use throughout both the winter and the spring. The mats come rolled up nicely in a small box, so this would be a perfect sized gift to add under a tree.

At the time of writing this review. The price was $16.79 for two seedling heat mats. The cords are not super long so they need to be close to an outlet. I use these for heat stability under some of my egg incubators. If you use them for incubators I definitely recommend you monitor the temps before starting eggs. I have one incubator that gets too hot with a mat under it. I also have used these for my isopod boxes and worm bins on occasion.
