Replaced with this new rod in my GE - GG30S06AVG00 30 gal water heater that was installed in 2011. The NPT thread fits. Uninstalled with impact wrench and then installed first with hand-tightened and then with wrench without issue or leak so far.

This anode rod came with teflon tape and a socket to remove the old anode and install the new one! I've replaced anodes for decades and have never seen one arrive with installation tools included, the only thing needed was my own socket wrench. To top it off, the price was less than aluminum anodes cost at my local supply house.

Came with every thing I needed, was a very install. Just bought the house with a 15 year old water heater and the original anode. Was a bit past due for replacement…

Has worked as expected - note installed only 3 days ago. Quality of anode rod appears excellent. No installation instructions which would be helpful. I also recommend that packing should be added around the rod in the shipping box to minimize shifting.

remember to run the hot water faucet after turning then water or to relieve pressure. Trust me, I got a great shower in the garage

I know someone with access to a material analyzer, and I had them check the composition of this anode rod.The results are as follows:Mn - 8.36% (Manganese)Ni - 3.99% (Nickel)Ta - 6.75% (Tantalum)W - 80.08% (Tungsten)I did not wash this rod before testing. There is no aluminum, and also no magnesium present.
