When I first bought my Chevy EV, I knew upgrading from the standard Level 1 charger to a Level 2 home charging station would be essential. After months of crawling along at a sluggish 3 miles per hour of charge, I needed something that could keep up with my needs. I wanted the convenience of quick overnight charges, the ability to monitor and manage charging through an app, and a charger robust enough to handle colder weather without hiccups. After researching several options, I decided on the GRECELL Level 2 EV Wall Charger, largely because of its impressive 48A output, smart app integration, and the extra-long 25-foot cable. Setting up the GRECELL charger was a surprisingly painless process. Out of the box, it was nearly fully assembled. I just had to mount the bracket on my garage wall, plug it into the NEMA 14-50 outlet, and I was ready to go. The 25-foot cable turned out to be a great feature - it reached my car even when parked at an awkward angle in the driveway. The build quality of the charger itself was solid, with a sturdy cable and a weather-resistant housing that felt ready to withstand the elements. The "Smart Life" app added convenience, allowing me to adjust the current, schedule off-peak charging sessions, and keep an eye on the charging status from my phone. The initial setup of the app and WiFi connection was smooth, though I did find the app's functionality a bit redundant since most of the same information could be accessed through my vehicle’s interface. Using the charger has been a perfect experience so far. The charging speed was exactly as promised - I consistently get around 40 miles of range per hour. This means I can plug in my car after work, and it’s fully charged and ready to go by morning. The app's scheduling feature was a bonus, letting me take advantage of lower electricity rates at night. However, the app did fall short in certain areas. While it offers the option to start and stop charging remotely, my EV didn't always respond well to this command. A few times, I had to physically unplug and replug the charger to reset things. It’s a minor inconvenience but worth noting, especially if you plan to rely on the app’s remote features. One concern I did have was the app’s WiFi integration, which wasn’t always stable. There were moments when the connection dropped, and the app became less responsive. Fortunately, the Bluetooth connection acted as a decent backup, but it would be nice if the WiFi performance was a bit more reliable. Another minor issue was the bulk of the charging cable. While I appreciated the heavy-duty construction, the thicker cable was a bit cumbersome to handle and store, even with the included velcro ties. Overall, the GRECELL Level 2 EV Wall Charger has delivered on its promise of fast, efficient home charging with just a few small hiccups. It’s a solid, cost-effective alternative to pricier branded chargers, and it offers most of the features you’d need for convenient daily use.Bottom line:The GRECELL Level 2 EV Wall Charger is a solid upgrade for Chevy EV owners seeking faster charging, smart app integration, and durability in cold weather. It offers a quick setup, robust 48A output, and a helpful 25-foot cable. The "Smart Life" app allows scheduling and monitoring, though its WiFi stability and some remote features could be improved. Despite a bulky cable and occasional app glitches, the charger consistently delivers about 40 miles of range per hour, making it a reliable and cost-effective choice for home EV charging. Very solid product that I recommend without hesitation, 5 stars!Pros:1. Charges at approximately 40 miles of range per hour.2. High 48A output for fast and efficient charging.3. Simple installation with a nearly fully assembled unit.4. 25-foot cable offers flexibility for various parking situations.5. Durable, weather-resistant housing suitable for outdoor use.6. "Smart Life" app allows scheduling, monitoring, and remote control.7. More affordable than many premium EV charger brands.Cons:1. WiFi connection can be unstable, affecting app performance.2. Remote start and stop features do not always work reliably.3. Thick, heavy-duty cable is difficult to handle and store.

Works great but there’s no way to hang electric cord on unit. I ended up buying a wall mounted garden hose holder for the cord

I was able to use this charger with an adapter to charge a Tesla, and it had no problems. The transformer box on it is a bit large, but feels quite sturdy, and I really appreciate the extra length in the charging cord. The cable was not unreasonably stiff and the plugs were all within tolerance such that they fit easily into their respective ports. 5/5

The 25-foot cable on the charger has been great for reaching my Tesla in the driveway. The fast charging is so useful; I'm getting about 40 miles of range per hour, whereas on a standard Level 1 charger I was only getting about 3 miles per hour. I use the app to charge during off-peak hours and save electricity. The app also lets me monitor charging progress and adjust current if needed - usually 48A. Item is well built and sleek. Looks seamless on my wall.
Great product, works well for 220 charging!

I have a very similar wall charger with the NACS plug for my Tesla. Both units use the same wifi app, sonit is easy to control due to the familiarity. However, this one seems more robust. If you look at the charging cable, there is a big difference in the size of the wire and insulation. The larger the wire, the less resistance, less heat and better power transference. This was very easy to use, pretty much plug and play with a very easy installation onto my wall. With the larger charging cable, I prefer to use this as my primary charger and have moved the other one to another house. The app is very easy to use. Just download and set the charging amps and you are set. You can also set a charging schedule, but I only charge when I need to.
