Good product. I couldn't find a good photo reference showing how it should be used, so I'm including a photo (the photo does not show a glazing putty that should be used to embed the glass, but I wanted it to be clear off putty to show how to install). There's another review here that describes in detail the install process but I'm a visual person. I hope it will help someone in the future.

The web is vague about how to use these and what they do. I want to try and help the DIY people after our experience. These are for steel pane windows. I'm pretty sure this is the standard size if you have approximately a 9 x 12 inch window to replace. We took a little of the tension out of these with pliers which helped get them in there. This what worked for us, maybe it's right or wrong - there seemed to be 12 different opinions when we were looking it up - the bendy, twisty part goes towards the frame. The little part at the end of the twisty side is what keeps the glass in. It rests on top of the glass. That is the purpose: to hold the glass in, prevent it from rattling and prevent someone from just pushing it out the other side. Except for that little part, the rest of the clip should rest in the channel between the glass and the pane. And, then the other little part on the straight side slips into the hole in the steel pane window. I hope that lowers the frustration level for other people.
