Keep your shower door secure with this Prime-Line stainless-steel shower door catch. This is a stainless steel shower door catch with a spring-loaded nylon tip. Designed to be attached to the door frame of swinging shower door and hold the door closed. Nylon latch allows for a soft but durable hold. The housing is designed to be adjustable with the elongated mounting slots which are 1 inch on center.

The spring on the inside of my original latch broke after 20 years and it was not latching anymore. This part was an exact replacement. I measured before ordering to be sure. Replacement was quick and easy. The part comes with new screws too.This latch depends on the shower door frame to keep the spring in place. If you mess with the spring or white plastic tip before installing, they will pop out of place. I believe this is the problem other reviewers have had.I installed this in less than 10 minutes and most of that time was spent cleaning calcium buildup off the old latch before I could remove it.

This item is very low quality. The metal housing does not have a panel at the underside, so if your shower door at that side is not fully smooth (has more than one layer, etc.), the spring can pop out. The housing back (opposite the plastic latch) is only connected at one side, so it bends easily. The plastic catch recesses into the housing and easily sticks, making it pretty much useless. Returned item.

This works as a replacement latch on my shower door, but is only OK. Despite lots of adjustment, it doesn't latch very well or very firmly. It's a design problem, the plastic part is able to rotate somewhat up and down in its housing. The old one had the spring built into the latch tip, preventing it from turning and making it only go in and out.

This might be my fault but this never worked from the onset. That being said, it's fair to say that I used the orignal screw holes to install this and that might have squeezed the insert to where it couldn't freely move in and out. I ordered another kind, so we'll see

Our old worn-out shower latch needed replacement for sometime, so I ordered this replacement. It needed some finessing to get it adjusted correctly, but after adding small washers to hold it in place this latch works perfectly.

Worked to replace previous latch. Required the drilling of a new hole for proper screw alignment. Slight adjustment needed to ensure latch secures door, a simple process. Overall, not an exact replacement for original but basic design was easily adjusted to work

I must have done a have dozen Hardware Stores and Bathroom boutique stores looking for this tiny item to replace the one that broke after 20 years. “Sorry they don’t. Make those anymore. You’ll need to change your full shower doorâ€. It was on a whim (and a desperate one at that) that I searched it on Amazon. Never under-estimate the value of Amazon. Fit perfect and arrived the next day.

Cheap quality! The spring in it does not work. The nylon tip does not spring back out. The spring exploded out of the metal container, I couldn't even find it. Complete waste of money.

I have a shower stall from 1987 so I was happy the find the door piece I needed. So many old things are obsolete so I was glad to find it and not have to replace entire door of shower.
