I've now replaced my screen door twice with this (life with a 3 year old), and I can say this is worth every penny. It's easy enough where anybody with some patience and literally any amount of knowhow can do it, versus having to pay someone to rescreen your door. The screen is of good quality (though will not stand up to a charging 3 year old). The first time it took maybe 45 minutes as there was some trial and error on the best way to go about it, the second time 20 minutes tops. My best tip is to cut the rubber strips into relatively close lengths for each side, use a flathead screwdriver to get it started in the corner, and the use the roller the rest of the way across, always going in one direction. It takes some time to get the hang of it, but have a beer a relax. You'll get the hang of it and be happy you did it.

The spine did not fit. It was too big. I just used the old spline and everything worked out perfectly

We had a stray (and attention starved) cat destroy our patio screen a few years ago. After a lot of procrastination I decided it was time to fix it. Looking on youtube for videos, I found all sorts of descriptions on how to do it. None of them too complicated, so I decided to give this product a try.The screen installation was very easy: Just remove the handle (save it), old screen and spline (toss them, the kit comes with a new screen and spline). Center the screen over the door and push the spline in small consecutive strokes into the groove. Make sure the screen is pulled tight but leave some slack or it might rip.The hardest part (and it wasn't hard) was putting the mounted door back into the frame: Some door frames have a small "rail" on the center of the track for the rollers to run on top of. If that's your case, and you only have it on the top track or bottom track, insert that one first. Angle the assembled door and slide it into the track. After that, move the door to a vertical orientation and use a flat screwdriver to push down the rollers on the other side into the door, so it can be snapped into place. Some people complain about the tool and disasters while repairing their screens. I found the tool to be quite sufficient for the job and would recommend short strokes while installing the spline. A sharp box knife will make a world of difference when cutting excess screen, and I recommend it.

So glad I could replace my screens. This made my screens new again and with a little patience and time, well spent. Great product and would purchase again if needed in the future

The price of this screen replacement kit made it impossible to pass up. It'll save you a lot of money if you're willing to put in a little time to install it. I'm a 72 year old woman and it took me about half an hour, including removing the old screen, cleaning the frame, and installing the new one. It looks great! I live in a super windy area, and it's holding up just fine. Nice quality screen, unbeatable price.

This was my first rescreening project and I learned a few things. The screen in this kit comes folded up, and the creases are still visible after install. It's not super obvious but I was still a bit disappointed. Also, I found that the included spline was way too thick for my door, so I had to buy a thinner spline. If the spline is too thick it can be next to impossible to install, or if it is too thin it will not retain the screen. To do it again I would not go with this kit. Replacement screen should never be folded. Also, the spline channel on your door should be measured first so that the correct spline is used. It makes things go much more smoothly. That said, my screen door looks way better now and it did save me a few bucks to do it myself!

The screen is perfect and feels just as durable as the original. The tool could be a lot better, it should have wider wheels to ride along the gasket without falling either side of the round gasket.I had no nidea how tbick my rubber seal was but I soon found out it was too big for my screens. I made it work though!I didnt try this yet but perhaps putting the gasket in hot water prior to install would soften it or maybe using soap to make it easier to work with.I'm installing this on basement windows that have several tears in them. I'll see how my second attempt goes with warming up the gasket or usinv soap prior to install.

Have never replaced a screen before. The tool that the screen came with was easy to use and did the trick. Replaced 1.5 window screens in our new home.
