Hello there, nice to meet you! ;o)I've been collecting rain drums for a couple of months now, and they have been very educational for me. No two drums are alike in terms of tone, and with these type of instruments, your mileage can vary while you try to acquire a 'good toned' drum.That said, I think I found the best in the 6 inch 8 note drum since I started my quest! This rain drum is painted in a gorgeous glossy blue-green color, and extremely well made. The tongues have an interesting curly cue cut that seems to add to the overall tonality, because it sounds fantastic and in tune.Kindly note that the underside of this drum doesn't have the rubber stopper like most of the drums in its class-- but a nicely done rubber/silicone rimmed 'hole,' for want of a better word. The rubber ring acts as a dampener, if you will. This feature keeps the tongues from reverberating too much. The pictures don't show you this, but in addition to the rubber ring, you'll find 3 rubber feet to elevate the drum a tad from your play area. This particular drum is in C major, just so you know.The accessories include a black cloth bag, a songbook, 1 strip of number stickers, 2 mallets, and a mallet holder. Surprisingly, the handles of the drum mallets are polished wood, with rounded ends (most ends of mallets of other drums, opposite the rubber ball portion are simply sticks, you know?) that felt nice to the touch! Lastly, the songbook gives you 'staffed' songs, for both 8 note and 11 note drums, along with images of the manufacturer's larger drums.Give this affordable MENGBEI Rain Drum 8 Notes 6 Inches (Blue) a try... This steel tongue drum is absolutely amazing for meditation and creating a calming atmosphere. The blue color is vibrant and stunning, making it a beautiful addition to any room. The sound it produces is rich and resonates wonderfully, really helping to shift the vibration of the space and create a peaceful energy. It’s easy to play, even for someone like me who’s not a professional musician, and the tones are perfect for relaxing or meditative practices. The drum feels solid and well-crafted, so I’m confident it will last a long time. I love using it indoors to create a sense of harmony and balance. It’s not really something I’d use outside, but for personal meditation or just enjoying the music, it’s perfect. I bought this 6-inch, 8-note steel tongue drum as a gift for my cousin, who practically lives in her garden and has an ongoing love affair with her tomato plants. She’s always out there weeding, watering, and whispering sweet nothings to her vines, so I figured this drum would add a peaceful soundtrack to her zen-like outdoor oasis. When the rain hits it, a gentle melody can be heard in the garden. Who knew drizzle could play an actual tune? It’s like the sky decided to join an orchestra.The sound is rich, calming, and somehow makes rainy days feel like a treat instead of a mudfest. Now, she says the drum helps her garden “vibe higher,†whatever that means. I just love knowing I’ve gifted her something that not only makes her happy but also gives the rain a side hustle as a percussionist.She’s headed in the garden for a couple weeks now and they’ve been rainy days. The drum does not appear to be resting, though the little numbers on them came off. I wish the numbers had been spray-painted on instead of plastic stickers.

I’ve seen many of these before some farm more expensive but this arrived and it was very well-made! The finish was beautiful. I really felt it looked like it was a much more expensive item. It came with all the parts you need and it came with the booklet so anyone can learn the song quickly. I learned happy birthday it literally five minutes and they have the numbers on it so that it’s easy to use right off the bat, if you’re gonna use this as a drum the numbers of course don’t matter but if you’re gonna use this as an instrument, and this is a great little instrument for kids or adults, it does come with a sticker to replace the numbers if they wear off the mallets are nice. I will tell you that the picture makes it look like it’s gigantic. It’s not huge but it’s a good size. It is literally the size of my hand from wrist to fingertips so it’s a good size , this is excellent value and it would make a great gift for kids for even just teenagers as something fun for adults. It’s just a really great gift to have and with Christmas coming up. This is great value deathly would buy this again. In fact I might buy one of the bigger ones with more notes .
