This is such a cool, unique item. It would be good for a gift for the person who has everything. I love that it can be used either outside for the rain or you can keep in inside and play it yourself. It has a great sound to it and it's easy to learn how to play it. It is very solid, and quality made. It's the perfect size for a starter or someone who just wants to have a smaller drum. Great value for the money!!

Hello there, nice to meet you! ;o)I've been on a quest to find the best sounding rain drum, and finally I found it! It's the MENGBEI 6 inch, 8 note drum in navy blue (matte finish). This drum has the best sound thus far, and my hubby verified it with a pitch/tone app!The drum is beautifully made, with a lovely matte finish. Not only that, instead of a rubber stopper usually found on the underside, this particular drum has a rubber/silicone 'ring,' or rim, protecting the drum's 'sound hole,' on the underside. This rim seems to amplify the resonance of the individual notes of this drum. The resulting sound is akin to ringing bells-- it's that melodious!You do receive a good sized song book that has some songs for this particular drum (and for other, larger ones), a black drawstring bag to protect your instrument, with 2 drum mallets, a mallet holder, and a strip of replacement number stickers. I must point out a nifty feature of the numbers-- they are in a san-serif font, which is more readable by most people.Highly recommended, and then some!Need I must tell you these affordable drums make terrific gifts for all kinds of family members, young and old alike, and friends as well-- for the upcoming holidays? Think yoga, meditation, and just plain having fun even if you or your child aren't a musician. Lastly, I must point out that no two drums are alike... sometimes there's an 'off' key or note...the steel tongues are calibrated by hand, or they may get damaged in transit... hence, my quest to find a good one! Most people, including me, hesitate to tune up a rain drum... but this brand has nailed several sizes of their drums with some consistency.That said, I've already ordered another drum from this seller for that very reason!Give this affordable MENGBEI Rain Drum, 8 Notes 6 Inches (Navy Blue, Matte Finish) a try... This rain drum is a beautiful decor/music instrument to my outdoor garden. When it rains, the soothing, melodic sounds it produces create a calming, zen-like atmosphere that’s truly peaceful. However, after a few nights of rain, I ended up moving it indoors because it would play all night if it rained continuously.My kids love playing it as a musical instrument, and the sound quality is lovely. The drum itself looks gorgeous in navy blue, but the stickers on it make it feel a bit cheap. Despite that, it’s a unique and enjoyable piece, both in the garden and at home.

Even better than described! I was so blown away with this that I’ve ordered several more as gifts. An absolutely incredible residence and sound when using the mallets, but even more beautiful when played by nature‘s harmony through the rain. If I could give more than five stars, I would.

I was hoping for a little better of a little tongue drum. I have a couple really nice large Rav tongue drums, and of course those are in a whole different category. Also, prefer 432Hz tuning but this is not offered on these small drums.It comes with basic label numbers on the notes (that can easily fall off). But once you learn the scale progression, the stickers don’t need to be there, and aid in learning the scale progression.For about $20 list price, this is about what to expect.This little drum is cute, but not something I would use in a sound healing session. I think this may be interesting to put outside when it rains; it might be best as a garden toy.

This little drum is a lot of fun to just mess around with, but could probably be used by a serious musician as well. I loved the idea of putting it out in the rain - I did try this, but it wasn't raining hard enough for any sound. Now I am excitedly waiting for a hard rain (for once!) to see if it will work. If it doesn't, I still enjoy having this little instrument around. Good price for a solidly built item.

I've never had a rain drum before, and this was my first time experiencing one. I immediately fell in love with the beautiful mellow tone that this makes when used with the mallet. We haven't had rain yet to test it under the eaves, but I'm really looking forward to that!I am going to try to find some kind of case to store it properly in with its mallets. I'm sad that it only came with a bag for storage.
