This collection kit worked perfectly to get the rain water from my gutters into my barrel. I cut a section of my downspout to accommodate this but it doesn't leak and it's built well and I think it'll last a long time. It was really easy to do, I did it myself. And the money that you will save from getting free water from your gutters that comes from the sky is invaluable. My plants love it! It was definitely worth the money.

Was fairly easy to install with the right tools and patience. No valve to switch for collecting or not. Ingenious idea how water travels down the inside downspout walls and is collected by the diverter. I would recommend!

Worked great for collecting rain water. Just had to cut out a section of downspout and fit the diverter in. Added 2 extra screws to keep it in place.

The design of this allows a lot of water to head to the downspout, not to rain barrel. do not buy if you are lookimg for total diversion. Also not enough fastners -- plan to buy a few self tapping screws.

We have a cheap $40 rain barrel and it would overflow constantly leaving water against my foundation. I wanted something that would divert the water, but that I could cap off when the barrel was full. This works perfectly to so that. I am only giving 4 stars because the instructions clearly say to cut 9" out of the drain pipe to install this, which is WAY to much. You need to cut about 4-5". I was able to use the cut off 9" piece to make up the difference, but I found this error very annoying.

This unit seems to be alright although I’m not sure exactly how well it will stand up in the long term. It comes with 2 x self tapping screws and it is best if you have a cordless driver and screw the screws through the side into your downspout to secure. It is really not aerospace engineering but I guess some people have never used self tapping screw before lol. One screw in the top and one screw in the bottom is all you need.I wanted to snug fit so I ended up cutting the top downspout and then I measured how much to cut off on the bottom based on the diverter. I then removed the downspout bottom from the side of my house and it was a lot easier to cut. It was then reinstalled and secured with the metal strapping back to the house snug and secured with the bottom via 1 included self tapping screw. Unless you’re trying to ‘Batman’ up the side of your house via your downspouts It should be fine.The fit is not perfect, but it will work….it’s a diverter downspout for a rain barrel so unless you’re one of those weird people making it a 4 hour job it’s not exactly a better homes and gardens display. Most people don’t have rain barrels by their front door, but again, who knows.I was gonna buy the Oatey plumbing one but it was twice the price so no thank you.Included in the kit is a small red plug for winterizing. I just got to figure out where to store it so I don’t lose it because it’ll be a lot easier than disconnecting the rain barrel every winter. The kit came with zip ties and you’d almost think that they would’ve made a little loop so that way you could’ve hooked up the plug to the diverter so you wouldn’t lose it but… Hopefully, I don’t lose it….

This kits works quite well! I was worried that it was a cheapo product. Take your time, measure your down pipe twice, and make straight cuts. I just wish that it could collect much more water.

I have purchased two of these rain diverters and both were easy to install and work well. The package includes two screws but the device does not have any holes in it to attach the unit to the downspout. I suppose you could drill holes in the unit but I was concerned about it potentially cracking. I found the units attach tightly enough that I did not need to use the screws anyway. We have had heavy rains and the units have stayed in place. The hose is heavy rubber and quite long, and of good quality. The package contains a cap to close the diverter when your rain barrel is full to avoid overflow. I found other diverters did not fit the shape and size of my downspouts, but this one did. I recommend this product.

It looks ugly but it works very well, but that's okay, my house is ugly well. Fit nicely with my 2x2 eavestroughs.

It was difficult to make fit but we managed, however the design is very poor and it does not collect much water. Waste of money.
