My family and I bought these especially for cruising. After looking at reviews of more expensive talkies, and finding out on a ship they all pretty much work the same, we settled on these for the price and reliability (as was advertised). So here are my pros and cons.PROS: 2nd floor to 9th floor of the cruise we heard each other really well.No static or reverb or stray signals.Small and very lightweight and very easy to use. My 6yr old had one.Charges in no time, comes with charger, our standby time lasted all day, never lost power and we used them often.CONS: doesn’t transmit clear when you’re in the stateroom to another floor, so step into the passageway and you’ll be good.Overall I would recommend this product because I love it myself and I gave it a true experience.

I have a small 10 acre property but it’s more like a 10 acre jungle. You can’t see anyone standing 20’ away the trees and brush are so thick. I wanted to get something my boys and I could communicate with instead of our cell phones. This four pack of radios was spot on. They work great! Comms are very clear, has 16 channels, works great through dense brush/trees and we’ve used the radios for 8 hours and the battery last a long time, never died. This is a simple, robust, well built radio system. It’s very easy to use, changing the channel has an audio feedback to confirm your channel. The volume is pretty loud too and not distorted on high. Comes with belt clips the radios attach to as well. This is a great product, highly recommend!!!

I wasn’t expecting too much out of these radios considering they break down to $10/each, but I was very pleasantly surprised at the quality.We are a snowboarding family of 5, and I bought these so my husband, myself, our oldest son, and middle could communicate with each other on the ski hill; head back to the lodge for lunch, where are you, meet me here, yada yada. Now mind you, we weren’t at distances greater than 2 miles, lol, but the sound quality was amazing. Crisp and clear, no interference at all. The short stubby antennas are perfect for sticking in your pocket without worrying that they’ll snap if you take a tumble. When our youngest is old enough to carry one, we’ll buy from this company again.

Wanted to share my experience using these walkie talkies on a cruise to help others make a decision...Cruise Ship: Royal Caribbean Harmony of Seas (2nd largest ship in world)Battery: Lasted an entire day of intermittent useCompliance: No issues taking on the ship / charging etc.Portability: These were very small and so PORTABLE! The easily fit in pocket to take anywhere. I was so surprised by the size! I didn't realize how much of a plus this was after seeing others carry larger ones with the large antennas.Kids Usage: Very easy for kids to use- my 12, 10, 6 year old used it throughout the ship with no issues - I love that it didn't have a million buttons or ways for them to easily change settings or channel. If channel was changed, it was very audible and obvious.Durability: One of the talkies got sand on it and that same one even fell in water (very quickly retrieved) and when it was out of the water, the sound started muffling but after really drying and leaving it with the speaker down to drip out, it ended up working fine the next day! Don't recommend doing this but I was very happy.Nice Feature: No squelching sound! I was so worried my kids would annoy people with this and it was so nice to not hear that sound. Also, the antenna was not removable, hard and not easily breakable - and it's short which I think it helped durability.Range: This was KEY for me, I was so worried about range. I was on 8th floor mid-ship and in the cabins, I really couldn't reach too far in ship from my room. My kids walked around the decks and elevators and it pretty quickly faded. HOWEVER, I found that this really didn't matter. When I wanted to talk to them , I just walked into the elevator area and it reached very far. I was able to reach them up to 8 floors as long as they were on the same side of ship or mid-ship. Before people worry about this, we worked out a system where if the other person doesn't respond, assume that they can't hear you and move. That really worked just fine. It wasn't perfect but I didn't have any times where I couldn't get my kids to respond after moving around. REMEMBER - I was on the 2nd largest ship in the WORLD! That's not bad considering the extremely massive size, floors, and number of people! We also used in Haiti and my kids were in a mountain ziplining while I was on the beach watching and I heard them perfectly!Interference: About 5 times in a week, we had interference and when we switched channels it resolved or it was just one other person randomly talking. It really wasn't an issue at all.Overall, if you have small amount of patience to making it work it will work. I also had a backup system of stickies in room in the event these really failed, but they never did. I seriously loved the portability and how easy it was for kids to use.

Bought these for our annual snowboarding trip as our phones will often freeze/die because of the temps. They worked so well and lasted all day in the mountains. Will definitely need to buy more for other family members to join in.

Easy to use the volume is good. The weight is good. The belt clip works very well very convenient to use a USB charger and it’s programmable. It’s a great radio to have around the back up for emergencies or for travel.
