Very easy to use. Clear reception. I can confirm they work through many cinder block walls! Seem highly durable and water proof, but have not had to confirm that part (fortunately!). I am happy with them, and would stack them right up against Motorola or Midland in regards to performance. Battery life with very light usage (less than 10 minute talk per day) equates to 4 DAYS. Very good!

High quality audio with great transmission range and build quality. We used these to coordinate felling a tree in my backyard and had no issues with interference or transmission between myself on the ground and my friend in the lift cutting branches.

Second Update: Support was kind enough to send me a programming cable. I also performed a sound test between Rocky Talkie 5 Watt, Retevis Ailunce HA1G, Motorola Talkabout, and the Retevis RB48. Sound quality was best to worst in the order. All of them made the trip though, and there was no question about what was said between the RB48s. Seem like solid radios, good price.Test was conducted at about 2700 feet, with trees in between points A and B.First Update: Support worked with me to determine that there's a screen protector. It's not easy to see, but it's there. The display plastic itself is pretty hard, and does not scratch easily.Sound is decent, and loud if you need it. The display scratches ridiculously easily. You can permanently damage the display with your fingernail alone. If you need to get something of the display, use a wet rag.To change the channel, you need to press the menu button first. It also speaks the channel number when you turn the radio on, or change the channel.

I bought these to communicate with my fishing buddy while we are fishing the flats. I can't attest to how far exactly these would work but being 1 1/2 miles apart, they worked just fine. there were no obstructions or hills in the way - justa straight line of sight. The waterproof design was very important to me since they are used while walking in water. One was dropped in the salt water and was rinsed with fresh water at the end of the day and continued to work perfectly. For my use, they worked great.

I love this these walkie talkies. The clarity is great when we talk to each other and the battery seems to last long and it performs great for hiking. The reception is perfect and the size is just right. The radios feels strong like there well made. Definitely recommend this product.

They are rugged and fully functional walkie talkies, however it is very easy to accidently spin the V knob to very low or mute. I was using them for rock-climbing and found this made them essentially unusable so returned them.
