This boom arm hold the mike where you place, no dropping or changing position. It works great!

Does what it is meant to do, and very well. Easy to install. Easy to use. If you have a lighter mic or USB mic it may not be heavy enough to hold the springs down. Adding a little weight to the arm solves that issue very easily.

I was in the process of updating some old (like 10+ year old) mic booms, and having researched which one's would likely provide the best value & bang for the buck, not to mention provide me with the confidence the two mic's I'd be utilizing on these booms, one being the Earthworks ICON Pro & the other being a Sennheiser MD 421-II, would support the mic's and also handle my backup mic arsenal, one of them being the EV-RE20 (A heavy beast at that!)Happy to report the boom handles all three of my mic's, and the supplied 6ft. xlr cable (as I bought the bundle package for these items) all work fine, & are performing fine. No more springy noises when the talent moves the booms around, and the arms hold their position nicely.I'd recommend the Rode PSA1 Professional Studio Boom Arm based on my personal experience & use of the product. It came packed well, it's easy to set up, and bottom line is... Can you buy mic booms for less? Oh Gawd Yes!, but do I subscribe to the adage you get what you pay for? ABSOLUTELY! When it comes to boom arms, you DO get what you pay for, and I'm really pleased that with these booms I'm very comfortable not having to add the extra shock mount hardware because the arms are noise free & the build is sturdy! for my purposes they're just what I needed.
