TEMPERATURE CONTROL

I have some hard water at my kitchen sink, so I have to replace this cartridge about every 2 years. I decided to try this one only to be greatly disappointed. First, when I went to install it, the outer case was slightly deformed and would not fit in the brass housing. I had to use a pair of channel locks to gently squeeze it in shape enough where I could get it in. Second, this cartridge is VERY stiff and hard to regulate, and it squeaks loudly when you try to move or adjust it. If I can get a new Delta one in time, I'm sending this one back. It's junk as far as I'm concerned.

Do not buy this cartidge. It is not a genuine Delta cartridge and the quality shows. The first one lasted two days before the stem came unscrewed. Installed the replacement and it lasted three months. The handle became loose and the water pressure dropped. Upon disassembly, I found chunks of internals under the cartridge causing the blockage. Save yourself the trouble and pay the extra $15 for a genuine Delta part at a local store. That way you can get a replacement immediately if it fails. The quality of the new Genuine Delta cartridge and this one is like night and day. This is a knock off. Buy a real one.

This part did fit, and did stop the leak. BUT, it has an annoying "squeak" every time you move the handle. We ignored it at first, thinking it would wear in and stop. After over a month my wife said "enough". Once in a great while she said it leaked with her. I removed it, disassembled and lubricated it with silicone plumbers lube but noise persisted. I finally bought a genuine DELTA part and replaced it and that worked perfect.

since I have had my Delta faucet it needs a cartridge about every 5 years-they are easy to swap out. This time it came with the wrong size Allen wrench but fortunately I had the one i saved from the last replacement. I really like the faucet design and finding some thing repairable is pretty rare now.

Ordered first cartridge valve and install per instructions. Replacement valve squeaked like a rust barn door hinge, when turning water on and off. Contacted Amazon via email to have an exchange replacement, which was handled promptly.Received second valve and installed per instructions and the second valve was just as bad or worst than the first new valve.Contacted Amazon again and request refund, which was done promptly. Will recommend to stay away from this product and install a factory made valve from Kohler, which did indeed fix the issue with the sound of a rusty barn door hinge.
