Product arrived as advertised.I used the instructions to determine how much to add to my pool.To add the product, be sure to mix it first or use the skimmer. The skimmer is the easiest way but don't add it all at once.Personally, I place a hairnet in the skimmer. Fill the skimmer until it is half full with the stabilizer and come back in a few hours. Then I add more stabilizer and repeat this step until I have added the amount I calculated. The stabilizer works as intended as long as you add enough but don't add too much. Too much and your chlorine will be ineffective. Not enough and the sun will quickly burn up your chlorine.

While it isn't the easiest stuff to deploy, it does work. I needed about 15 pounds in my pool which is kind of a lot. I put it in a 60qt brewing kettle I have and filled with warm water and used a paint stirrer on a drill to whip it up. Let it sit like that for an hour periodically whipping it up. Then I decanted off the milky suspension and poured it into the skimmer. Then I filled again and repeated. When I got down to not that much left, I put it into a bag my wife uses for making almond milk and left it in the skimmer. Periodically I squeezed it and out came milky water. Eventually it was all gone. 3 days later I took a water sample to the pool store and they read the CYA levels and they had gone up exactly as predicted.

Update one year later! Kept stabilizer in the original plastic bag and kept inside a plastic tub. The product remained intact!!Those reviewers who “dump” 25 lbs or mass amounts and say it doesn’t work are beyond clueless as how CYA works or should be added.I use Trouble Free Pool to balance my pool. As an example, my pool is 21,100 gallons and needed to raise my CYA from 50 to 70 to start the season. So, I added 4 lbs 6 oz slowly though a sock in the filter (per Pool Math) and left my pump on for 24 hours and do not backwash for a week. CYA does NOT register immediately - it could take up to a week!My point is, there is a specific method and measurements to guide you. Please don’t take advice or believe reviewers who apparently are totally ignorant of this product’s use.I am dismayed to see the price has almost doubled in the past year, but the efficacy of the product is unquestionable.Original review:Shipped quickly and a great price! Does not go bad so always purchase in large quantity and store in a plastic bucket! Happy customer!

Just poured the right amount of product into a mesh bag and set it in the skimmer. A few hours later... all gone.

I’ve been using this all summer due to the rising cost of buying chemicals locally. I just throw some in a skimmer sock and put it in the skimmer overnight; it’s dissolved and dispersed by the next morning. It’s just as effective as any other product I’ve used (confirmed by testing the water) - my water has been crystal clear and perfect all summer (knock on wood). So long as they don’t raise the price, I will continue to purchase.
