My border collie sometimes has small mats behind her ears. It's difficult to find a tool for this small area. My BC is young and a bit lively when groomed so I don't feel comfortable using any pointed objects right behind her ears. This tool is both sharp and well made and is the perfect size tool for tight places. Just a few careful passes of the tool and the mats were removed. With any tool like this always be aware of where the dogs skin is but this is about as safe as it gets for a small mat remover.

I've never had a longer-haired dog before and had no clue about those tangles they get behind their ears. My Aussie got some really bad tangles/knots and my friend recommended one of these to easily and painlessly get those tangles out. Worked like a charm and got those knots out quickly! My little girl will never have those horrible tangles again.

These tools work amazing. I love the fact that you can switch the blades around for left handed people. However, my order did not come with the extra blade cartridge as described in the title.

Really good for cutting through my doodles hair when little knots and happen. The little teeth are good for extracting the cut fur.

Might Bichon frize gets these little mats under hair. I can use a Slicker brush and it gets it nice and smooth on the outside but those little snarls really bother me. I have tried using a hard wire comb and even though I was gentle I ended up making a little red mark in her skin. I have also cut out the knots which makes her coat look funny. This is a godsend. It doesn't hurt her at all and it kind of slices just the right pieces of the small so that the whole snarl doesn't just get chopped out and they come out pretty easily. I will be buying again future if I need to. I really recommend this. I'm not getting any kind of incentive for posting this I am just really happy to have such a great product

This little thingy has been helping me get the really tough mats out of my Shih Tzu’s hair. It really does break the coat so you need to understand that and use it only when necessary. I always spray detangler on the mat first and rub it in good to soften the hair. Sometimes this helps to save some of the hair. It is very sharp so you have to be very careful with it also. But when I need it - my puppies appreciate it! - I do too!
