I want to be able to use a couple of older gaming systems with a newer TV, so a converter like this is a must. This one works very well and is priced nicely, making it a good buy for that use. So far, I've been happy and had no problems with it.

While unpacking some leftover boxes from my move, I came across my old NES and N64, wanting to get some nostalgia feels, I looked for a converter and this did the trick. Great to play these old consoles in a new TV. Granted, can't play the classic Duck Hunt, but hey.. :)

This is about the av/s- video to HDMI converter. I hooked this up to an old DVD player and tried the s-video hookup first. It comes with 2 cords, and you have to hook up the red and white connectors on the second cord to get sound to the tv. This is not a problem with the converter, s-video only carries video signals. There is a switch to pick either 480p or 720p resolution. At the 720p setting, it gives a great picture. It also has a 16.9/4.3 aspect ratio switch. I used it to make picture fit the screen. At 720p and 16.9, it gave a great picture. It functions great, even for a sm all enclosure. It had good sound quality, even though this kit isn't designed to help the sound. Next I switched to the av setup. No real difference. Still gave a great picture. I like old DVD players just for the CD player, some of them have great sound. This converter is easy to use, and I can use the DVD part too.
