The lid does not tighten. It just spins endlessly so oil easily leaks out. Not impressed since the whole purpose was to contain it and prevent messes.

Nice that it holds lots of oil. The screen portion under the lid was not attached and it flipped out on the floor the first time I used it. Had to cut flashing off the plastic tank to allow it to fit where it was intended. I glued it in place once I was happy with placement. All in all it not works just fine. Like the large opening when draining oil. The screen is nice to hold the drain plug and drain your oil filter. It is a large step in the right direction if you don’t want an oil mess on the floor during oil changes.

Perfect for what I needed it for. Did an oil change on my Kawasaki Vulcan and it fit perfect under the bike when the bike was on a rear bike stand. Small which is perfect, the bike only had 2 quarts of oil in it so I can do one or two more changes before dumping at an auto store. I also really like the screen, I didn’t have to worry if I dropped the oil plug or washer which just added peace of mind

After receiving the product, I tested it with water to see if it had any leaks before using it for my power generator oil change. I read other reviews that stated there was oil leakage from the small-cap drain spout. Well, according to my test, this was true. Water did leak from the drain spout. Not good if you want to transport it to a hazardous waste facility. I believe my simple test is valid, even though I used water. The product description states:“GASKETED DRAIN SPOUT: The oil drip pan has a drain spout that features a gasketed cap that is tethered to the pan, allowing for easy draining while preventing leaks and drips.”The gasket, if you want to call it that, is a flimsy piece of paper-thin plastic stuffed up into the cap.Scepter, the manufacturer also sells gasoline storage containers. Hmmm, do you think we should purchase that product as well?Come on Scepter, fix this product.

This oil catch container was indeed a disappointment, if I had time to return it for a refund, I would have done it in a heartbeat. The catch grate is so thin in the edges that it can easily fall into the oil pan because the plastic mold didn't have enough material to hold the it.The green top cover can easily continue turning without stopping, meaning oil if even slightly mishandled, the cover will not hold it closed and the oil will easily spill out. You have to treat it as if you are holding an egg or something super delicate. One bad move and all the oil will spill everywhere. Bad molding throughout and not reliable.I'd look for something else and learned my lesson in forgetting about checking my packages right away. I overlooked this package and it cost me some money. If I find an actual good product for used oil, I can update with the new item.Stay away and save yourself time and money.
