The DM1 Dynamite Active Inline Microphone Preamplifier from sE Electronics is an active inline preamp intended to be inserted between a passive ribbon or dynamic microphone and a microphone preamplifier (sold separately). It can be used to deliver a robust 28 dB of gain to boost the audio signal of a passive mic, which improves the level to a preamplifier without adding noise or coloration...With a sophisticated class-A design and high-grade FETs, The DM1 has a low self-noise. It is built with a dedicated output buffer amplifier allowing it to drive long cable runs and reduce RF interference, buzz, and hum. Additionally, the DM1 Dynamite Active Inline Microphone Preamplifier offers a roadworthy, slim, all-metal design ensuring reliable operation for on-stage applications in difficult environments. Please note& the sE Electronics DM1 Dynamite 1 requires 48V phantom power provided by a preamp/mixer/audio interface so be sure to understand that before purchasing. While the cables feel a little cheap, unless you're gping to be rubbing your XLR cables across power cables, or you live near a radio station, you should be fine. The DM-1 itself, however, is a different story: I cleans up my mixer's garbage preamps pretty nicely, and the 28db of gain it provides is absolutely neccessary for very quiet mics like the Shure SM7B or SE Electronics V7, especially if you're using a cheap mixer or interface, or if you're even simply using a really long XLR Cable.

For years I have been struggling with getting my vocals to sound right and not have to amplify which makes the background buzz or noises louder. Vocals have always been too rough and hurt my ears......this solved that fully. There is now a big difference between the sound floor and the vocals, has eliminated all ambient sound issues and made everything easier. Wish I would have bought one sooner.

There should be no sound in a pre amp so that question us a misnomer. It is as quiet as it should be and adds more than enough punch to the microphone.

The only issue with this product is that you have to be careful not to push on it from the side. It fits snugly and clips in securely but, if you push on it from the side, it will become wobbly and eventually cause contact problems. I know this because it happened to me. I am not upset with the product, it was my own fault and something that I should have been more careful with. Thankfully it did not cause any damage to my equipment and only required me to replace the unit. A quick and easy fix for this is to put some foam between it and the mic extension then put a couple of velcro pieces around it to hold it in place if you do push on it. I love the product and the fact that I do not have another piece of equipment sitting on my desk. It is well worth the money, you just have to be careful to not be ham fisted on it as i was.

Use with the shure sm7b mic and yamaha MG10XU mixer and the sound is just golden, no noise induction from using it, no hiss from the gain being turned up to compensate, infact i dont need any gain at all, and the packaging it comes in is just great lol, you'll see when you buy it, and i recommend that you do as i've had this plugged in for a couple years now and never turn my mixer off, no digital settings, no updates, just good old fashioned analog tech doing its thing flawlessly
