I use these for eclipse and solar viewing and photography, they work great! You need a 12, 13, 14+ welding glass for solar viewing (dont take my word for it, please research this for yourself so you take care of your eyes!) Shade 12 will be safe but bright. 13 is ideal. 14 is a bit dark but works well for photos. Be safe!

When I first put this in front of my eyes, I can’t see anything. And then all of a sudden a really bright arc appears before my eyes and all of a sudden I can see perfectly! It’s almost as if it was intended that way!

Bought to use in a stand for my camera for the eclipse.Glass is very pitted and scratched and won't work for photography.Don't buy for photographyOtherwise I'm sure it would work great as a welding glass .
