What to say...If you need one, this one works perfectly. I had brake problems on a second hand bike that I couldn't solve, then I noted the front linkwire was shorter than the rear one...Lead me to looking up issue on Sheldon Brown's (the bicyclist, not football player) website. Lo and behold, this longer one fixed my issue! Now my front brake can actually stop me!

Replaced damaged "B" link wire on old gravel bike with centerpull brakes. Description is a little confusing but your old Shimano linkwire should have the letter "A" or "B" stamped or cast in the center fitting.

this link wire works just as expected. was easy to install and has provided good braking so far (ridden several times, including mtb trails)

If you purchased these, this means you rewired your brakes and decided to keep cantilevers. These worked fine for our old trek multiracks. don't try these unless you have new cables with a good cut. You can get cable cutters that will give you a clean cut in for 20-40 cuts for about ten bucks here or ones that will give you more cuts for twenty bucks. make sure the cutters are for STEEL bike cables or you will have imperfect cut and struggle with getting the cable through these. Also make sure you pull the cable over the the locking position withing the small button on these or they will not work properly.Lastly, I also suggest you consider alternately converting your brakes to more modern types. For what I paid for these, and very hard to find good quality four finger short throw (ie long lever short throw), as well as new grip shifters I could have gotten top quality trigger shifters with integrate brake levers and new brakes as well. so I suggest adding up all your costs and converting. If you are for some reason not converting, do get these -- they work fine.
