I installed this tachometer on a 1996 Johnson 48spl. Installation was simple. I just had to enlarge the original tachometer opening by about 1/16 of an inch. It seems fairly accurate but I only have a mini tach to check it against. It does have an accuracy adjustment, so it can be fine tuned if you have a good reference tach. The tach looks good and works well. I would definitely buy it again.

Arrived earlier than originally stated when ordered. Great tachometer, nice bold easy to read numbers and backlight. Don't bother ordering one of those other tachs for less that are really automotive tachs, they won't be accurate on your outboard if you get them to work at all. This tach is made for marine use and works well and is accurate on my older Mercury outboard.

This was the perfect tach to replace a marine dash mounted speedometer. Black face & bezel matches other dials. Easy switch-out & replace. Good backlighting for night cruises as well!

Easy installation, as it came with instructions. Pretty close to the Mercury Verado one I was replacing except for the "Q" at the bottom of the gauge face. I wasn't able to test this out immediately as the boat was in the garage for the winter, but I changed the oil in the motor and was able to start it by putting it in a cut off 55 gallon drum. I have the ability to see the engine parameters on my fish finder so I could compare the rpm reading on the new tach with the read out on the fish finder and both read the same so I'm pretty happy with my purchase. I would really have liked that the important dimensions (bezel 3.25") and gauge body diameter (3.3125) as well as the depth (2.875") were in the description, but I was reasonably guessing this would fit. Also sellers do not seem to take pictures of the back electrical connections of their products so we could compare what we have to what we are purchasing. This would be a real advantage to the buyer to be able to compare one product to the other. The pictures are of the Mercury gauge, but this replacement must have been from the original manufacturer as all of the data was the same.

Instructions are easy to read, appears quality is good, hooked it up and it works great, back light was visible in shaded daylight. Only complaint is the required hole size, 3.43" come on! Make it 3.375" or 3.5", standard hole saw sizes.

Looks and works awesome. Plenty of different settings to choose from for your engine type

It was exactly the same thing I had in my Lund boat it works good sitting in the driveway but I haven't tried it out on the lake yet to see how accurate it was it was very easy to install
