Great product and half the cost of the ones in seed catalogs!

I wanted to transition away from plastic pots in my greenhouse because of the need to repurchase the pots or store the used pots. I like the ides of soil blocks. This looked like a good tool to try.The Good:-I had read that some folks were mixing potting soil with peat moss to get a block that holds it shape better. I had some coconut coir that I wanted to use for the same purpose. I mixed soil and coir equally; it was easy to work with.-The tool was easy to load, and would have been even easier if I had made a bigger batch of test soil.-I made perfect blocks with the first try. They hold together nicely.-The tool rinses off cleanly. The Bad:-NothingThis product exceeds my expectations.

This soil block maker is a neat little tool and comes in handy when you’re starting seeds. It’s comfortable to use too, which is important to me because my hands are on the small side and usually tools like this make my hands hurt. The tool is as described and instructions are clear and helpful. I ended up ordering a second one as part of a birthday gift for my urban farmer daughter-in-law who has a new (Amazon) greenhouse to start her seeds in. She was really excited to put it to use.

Hi, I’m quite pleased with this tool. It takes a bit of force to push the soil into it, but it does make 4 nice pot less planters with a dent in the middle for the seed. It seems very sturdy as it is all steel except for the plastic seed plate. Just wish they had made that plate steel also.

I have never used soil blocks before but I am convinced now this is the way to go with starting seeds - awesome product!

Works, but I always have to pack by hand to ensure nice blocks. Tried a few different methods, even one shown by a YouTuber, but no luck. Only difference was they were using a Ladbrook soil blocker.Always seems to be the two blocks on the right that need to be hand filled. If I can tinker with it and get it working properly, I will update my review and the best process I found.

I like this soil blocker. Don’t press down too hard when squeezing the block though, it’ll bend. I bent mine but was fairly easy to reshape.
