If I would have known that I have to purchase every little part and piece extra, I would have not purchased this product. The tubing is $200 cheap plastic. Short. Too short for my needs. I'm not paying $200 for a short cheap tube. The tube actually shattered like glass and returned it. I found a cheaper tubing on Aliexpress for a 3rd of the price. The little adapter for the hose you too have to buy separately $35. They are over charging big time for all the small parts. I'll never buy from a company like this in the future. Full of 'ish.

I had been using a smaller Hakko fan with filter that worked reasonably well and at least drew most solder fumes away. This fume extractor is in another league. So far as I can tell no smoke or fumes escape at all, the air no longer smells of flux or solder fumes. It has two or three power settings and is reasonably quiet on the lower settings while still working very well.It took me a long time to come around to buying this not being sure if it was really worth the expense, now I strongly recommend this to anyone who routinely needs to solder and cares about their health although I can't help but feel the price for extractors as a whole is unjustifiably high. I mean on the surface it's really not that different to a shop wet/dry vacuum cleaner that costs about $80 and also includes a HEPA filter. However, relative to competing extractor units, this was a great deal.On the highest fan speed the noise is similar to a room air-conditioner and is far less noisy (and still effective) on the lower speed settings. The duct (purchased separately) was a little short, we ended up putting the extractor unit on the top of the desk. If you have easy access to the back of your bench or desk it might be an OK length, but I feel it should be 12" longer.Five stars are given for performance, quietness but ignore the cost that although competitive still seems too high to me. I'd buy another two today if they were less expensive. Thinking about the potential cost to health if I didn't have this, I guess it's a bargain.

I did some research and eventually chose this one for my studio. I work in a non ventilated space and needed something to insure safety. It works as described. I found the hose on Ebay for less money so I got it from there, but this fume extractor was a good price here and I am happy I got it. Shipping was fast too.Thank you!

Excellent fume extractor. The motor is strong enough unlike those commonly used fan with filters. You are definitely paying for a high quality fume extractor. Perfect for your work bench.

It's so much more efficient at removing fumes that smaller desktop extractors. I can never go back.

I tried every fume extractor in the sub $200 category and all they do is pull the smoke in another direction, and none of them are really even powerful enough to do that effectively. I finally opted to get this because I have two young children and no outside veltilation in the room I solder in. I am finally happy with a fume extraction unit! This thing is awesome. I solder and the smoke gently draws toward the vent tube. I have yet to even smell flux in the room when it's on. If you are really concerned about flux fumes and your health this is the way to go. It's pricy (shop around BTW, it can be had for about 80% list) but it's the only REAL fume extractor I've come across. A candidate for best purchase!
