I have a light switch that is inconveniently located in a bookcase and is covered by books. I did not want to relocate this light switch, so I bought this remote light switch so I could access the covered switch. This remote works great! It has a low profile so while it does not lay flat like a normally installed light switch, it only protrudes about 1/2†but doesn’t look out of place. The transmitter needed to be hard wired in place of my covered switch, but if you know how to install an outlet or switch, it is very easy to do. You will want a face plate to cover the transmitter.

It didn't work after I installed it correctly. Spent 30 minutes trying to reprogram it with no avail. Finally, I checked the battery. The 12 volt battery only had 6.2 volts. Fortunately I had a replacement battery or it would have meant a trip to the store. It works fine now. They need better quality control. AFTER WRITING THIS REVIEW THE COMPANY REFUNDED $7 TO COMPENSATE FOR MY INCONVENIENCE. GREAT COMPANY, I WILL GO OUT OF MY WAY TO DO BUSINESS WITH THEM.

I liked the ease of installing this switch and the fact that it works.

I bought 4 of these with the goal of being able to remotely operate four fixtures. I installed the first, and found it worked intermittently. It could turn the light on and off, much of the time, but often required multiple attempts. Occasionally, it would not operate at all. Since I intended to install four switches, I decided to try a second one, and maybe it would work perfectly. But it worked more or less like the first switch. Operations succeeded intermittently, but failures were not identical to the failures of the first switch. Then I looked at the reviews more carefully. Reviews ranking the product from 1 to 3 stars almost always cited the intermittent behavior. This convinced me that the product design was inherently at fault. I returned all four switches, including two remaining that I not bothered to open and test. I wanted remote switches that worked perfectly. Intermittent behavior is not acceptable. My recommendation is to avoid this product until a new product replaces this one, and the new product corrects the intermittent failures of the present product.

This took significantly more installation than I expected, but the result is great. I disconnected the original wall switch wiring at both ends. A wireless switch was then installed on the original wall switch box (easy) and I have three additional wireless switches, also programmed to operate this same ceiling light. The ceiling light box was small and considerable effort was required to re-arrange the existing wiring within the box so the new receiver module could fit in there and still allow the LED and programming button to be accessible. This button needs to be pressed to cause the LED to flash and then the wireless switch needs to be activated to program the receiver for that new wireless switch. This needs to be repeated again for each new wireless switch to become active. When all wireless switches can turn the light on and off, then the light fixture can be mounted, covering access to this programming button and LED on the receiver. The manual could be improved here. The installation of the receiver for these switches DOES REQUIRE wiring within the electrical box in the ceiling and the original light switch box. Anyone not experienced in doing this electrical work should seek professional help for this installation. I'm a retired Electrical Engineer and licensed electrician, so I was comfortable doing it. Also, the colors of the receiver wiring are not per the USA Electrical Code, so read the manual Red and Blue are the power inputs to this receiver. Black and white go to the light fixture. This is backwards from the National Electric Code, but follow the Surialec Manual and DO NOT hook it up backwards. This light is the ceiling light of my photo/video studio and I frequently need to turn this light off when it will affect the photography lighting, then back on when no longer taking photos or videos. A wireless switch is now located in the original wall switch position, plus one at each camera. Nobody needs to find the wall switch in the dark after the photo shoot any more.

Very good and feels solid. There is a bit of a delay when you press the switch and to when the light goes on. At least half a second. Not really a problem after you get used to it. I like the fact that the switch has a mounting bracket that you screw into the wall and the actual switch clips on and off so you can have it next to you or mounted on the wall

I was kind of hoping I could use this to swap my wall switch but unfortunately this only work when directly hooked up between the device and the wire box. I initially couldn't fit it in as my wire box was too full. Customer service recommanded me to apply for refund as they do not have a model for wall switch but I finally was able to get it inside the wire box by cutting off some existing excess wires and now it's working fine.

I bought about 8 of these in 4 years. Never had any problem with it . Easy to install and program. All the remotes still have the original batteries in it. One of them is installed 125ft away and work great.

This switch doesn’t work half the time when the fixture is still open and works VERY sporadically when the fixture is fully installed. Its as if the signal is so weak, the fixture blocks it completely.I was pushing the ON part with the remote 2 inches away from the lights and it still took 12 clicks before it registered. Turning OFF seemed to be less difficult, it worked from a couple feet away and usually takes less clicks.Still, completely useless product since you dont want to stand there clicking forever, hoping it will eventually turn on your lights!
