I bought this for my brother-in-law who is not in good health. My sister is his caretaker and now he can call her when he needs something. It's louder and takes less effort than many other whistles and it's a compact size to wear around the neck.

Everyone out there that doubts this item: you’re all just out to give this a bad review one way or another. This could easily damage someone’s hearing if they blew it up close to someone’s ear….On another note: Yes if you got lost, no matter what it’s going to be hard to hear a whistle from miles away sound energy obviously breaks down over distance if you know anything about modern science…..If someone was going to allegedly try to molest or rape you, if someone was in a distant area even if it wasn’t visible this item DEFINITELY would be heard.

Very sturdy with flashy packaging, but you have to blow really hard to get a mediocre sound out of it. Again, titanium and sturdy, but for the price, it doesn’t perform to the level one would expect.

GREAT PRODUCT, MINORS SHOULD THIS & ALL VULNERABLE PPL. WATCH THE SOUND OF FREEDOM MOVIE IT'S AN EYE-OPENER. THAT ASIDE, I WALK IN THE FOREST ALONE A LOT. I NEVER WORRY ABOUT WILD ANIMALS, BUT RATHER THE VERY ODD SICK PUPPY OF A HUMAN, THEY'RE PREYING, OR SOMEONE'S POOR ABUSED DOG FLEEING THERE FOR PREY. ALSO BEING DUMPED OFF BECAUSE THE LAW IS ON A DOG FIGHTING TIP OR SIMILAR. THUS THESE DOGS CAN BE VERY CROSS, SCARED, HUNGRY & UNPREDICTABLE.
