I've successfully installed this on my 2014 Ram Pickup truck and hauled my Mountain bike with it. It's a great solution that protects the truck while also securing the bike. I've seen these around town a lot (I live in a big biking city) and I've always wondered if they worked well. My only impression is that I was hoping that it would fit two bikes, but I just dont see it happening, at least two full-size Mountain bikes. It was perfect for one but the 2nd bike tire would just be too close to the painted finish for my comfort. Otherwise, it seems to be a good product at a good price, way more affordable than the big-brands (Yakima, Dakine, etc.) that I see around town.

I am not sure exactly what this is, but it is not designed to fit a tailgate. For my application it will work since it will be mounted on a custom rack.I would have preferred that there was a tunnel under the head tube rest so I can sling a strap through for larger bikes or smaller ones. The range of adjustment is not bad, it is too loose for my vintage mountain bike stump jumper. I have attached photo of what you can do to thrown on a larger bike and the smallest loop it can do on the right. The material is not bad, im not sure how long it will last outside, but it is certainly fairly good for the price.I am deducting 3 stars for those that buy this for a tailgate - I just don't see what truck has a 7" wide tailgate.

This tailgate pad was tested on a 2006 Toyota Tundra with a standard sized tailgate. Construction is fine and seems durable enough. The pad is supposed to be folded over the tailgate, with the top mounts facing upwards and sitting atop the tailgate, but it's too wide. Because of this, I have been using the pad with the strap mounts pushed forward and resting on the outside of the tailgate. This allows me to strap the fork, but limits me to a single bike. At first, I hated it, mainly because I was expecting it to work as advertised. However, I have found myself constantly using the product because I was needing an effective barrier between my bike and truck, for quick use, and this product meets that need, so I'm no longer bothered by the way it fits. If your tailgate has a wider top, this product may work perfect for you.

This worked great on my F150 Raptor with my mountain bike. It does a good job keeping the bike in place while protecting the paint. It is solid construction and hopefully will last a long time. Good value.

This works great. It is easy to secure over the back of my Maverick tailgate. It protects the paint and keeps the bikes from sliding around in the back. It is easy to wipe clean. Overall, great quality!

The build quality is good and the underside is soft and fuzzy. So I have no doubt it is safe on the vehicles paint. Perhaps my older first gen Tacoma tailgate is too thin, because the width of the top of pad is easily 4x too wide for my tailgate. Sadly, that's not the only issue. My MTB frame tube fits the hard padded mounts perfectly, however the Velcro straps that go over the frame tube to secure it down are way too long and the Velcro is too short... WAY too short. It's almost as if they didn't even try to mount a MTB to their own product to see if it worked prior to selling.Sorta wish I paid for this, so that I could at least return it for a refund. Now I have to pay 33% of the listed price for a product I cannot use. One downfall of the Vine system I suppose.

Tailgates have changed a lot in recent years. So designing one of these pads to fit numerous vehicles is a challenging task. Not only that, the width changes across the back. I have the full width type and have used quite a few variations. This pad is acceptable and I will use it to haul one or two bikes. I've carried the bike shown in the pictures below along with a similarly-equipped e-bike with no difficulty. The things I don't like include the location of the bolsters. You can see in the picture that the bike frame barely touches the bolster. The padding is rather thin. The stitching looks great. The straps are well-secured. I expect this one to last about the same as the others I've owned.
