These calipers are terrible. The markings don't quite line up at the zero point and the two parts do not slide together remotely smoothly (even with the locking screw undone all the way, so it's not that). The surfaces seem to just not fit each other's shape so movement is very jumpy and inconsistent which is not what you want when trying to precisely measure things. The calipers also come completely soaked in oil which makes a huge mess and makes the poor motion even more surprising.The thickness gage set isn't actually bad, there's a lot of different thickness options and the thinnest shims are protected by a thicker protective layer so they won't get bent as easily. The problem is that they are all 0.02-0.07mm thicker than they claimed to be (as measured by some digital calipers which are much better than the calipers that come with this set). That's not necessarily an issue as long as you don't mind finding the right size shim for your task, then measuring it (or adding 0.03mm if that's close enough, that was the amount most of mine were too thick).

I haven't checked it for accuracy judging by the fit and finish its probably not great. The body of the Vernier caliper came covered in scratches and dents. The sliding mechanism is not smooth and jerky. It is also missing a screw on the top right face of the caliper. The hole for it isn't even drilled correctly. The thumb wheel isn't actually a wheel and is fixed in place. The rear tang for depth measurement is also crooked.
