Received a used looking wheel that was scratched, beat up, and missing the feet and tools. It took several weeks but the seller did send replacements and continued to keep me updated as time went by. The wheel works surprisingly well for the price. Of course I didn’t know what to expect but since I’m only 3 years into a primarily hand building pottery journey, it will do for a wheel beginner. I chose this one because of its compact size, less weight and higher wattage. I can use it on my pottery bench and then store it away, plus using it for smoothing/evening out the bottom of mugs with a diamond grinding disk.

There are several variations of this wheel available from different sellers with slightly different features. I took a chance on this one because it looked very similar to a couple of the budget wheels that had been reviewed on pottery channels, as well as Seth Rogan for Wired, but this had a corded foot petal instead of a handle. As soon as I opened the box i could see that the machine was dirty, and only had one layer of bubble wrap protecting it in the box that it had almost broken through. There was no manual, warranty or paperwork of any kind. The ‘bonus’ tool items had been stuffed into the motor cavity in between the wires and housing.Despite the fact that the machine had clearly been scuffed, used with more than 1 kind of clay body & put back into the box without being cleaned, I withheld judgment until I set it up. After using a level with the adjustable feet and plugging it in I checked the feel of the wheel and used a laser level to check the wheel plate. You could feel, and see that the wheel or shaft had been warped or bent.I expected a budget machine, and it is. It is not difficult to move, which is good because on the floor it is awkwardly low to use, even for a child. This would be most comfortable up on bricks / a base / a table top. The wheel itself is covered in tiny grooves which felt much more abrasive than a standard full size wheel. You would have to drill your own bat holes or attach one with clay if you wish to use same. The plastic basin snaps around the shaft and clearly does not seal so would require frequent emptying / lots of cleanup if you are not a clean thrower. All that said I would have taken this entry level wheel at this price if it wasn’t a dirty, damaged machine. It appears that someone else ordered this, used it, discovered the defect, returned it, and then the seller jammed some tools into the motor and sent it to me. Returned for a refund, will order similar wheel but definitely use a different seller - based on comments I saw AFTER ordering this, this isn’t the first time they have knowingly tried to pass off defective equipment to someone.

Pedal goes either full speed or completely off. No control whatsoever. It’s also wobbly and not balanced. Completely quit working now. Buttons light up but pushing them does nothing. So this thing lasted 2 months and I hardly used it and the few times I did I wasn’t able to throw a single usable piece. What a piece of garbage. Going back to my kick wheel !

I'm a beginner potter that took some classes. If I try centering clay and put any pressure on the clay it affects the wheel speed. The round metal plate that the clay goes on hurts my hands at a high speed. There's no hardware to put a bat on. I don't even know if you could drill holes and diy something to add a bat. I had a very difficult time pulling the sides up because my hand kept scraping on the round metal wheel. Getting the piece off the wheel proved to be quite a challenge and did distort the piece a bit. It came with no feet. I had to struggle with the company just to get some. That took a month. I personally would buy a bit of a higher end wheel and set myself up for more successful pottery sessions. I hope this helps someone.

Item seems to work okay but the manufacturing of this unit is horrible. It looks to be hand formed, welded seems are awful. Not worth the price looking like this.

The quality control of these products is terrible. The product was obviously a second but not indicated as such. The control pedal arrived broken at the pivot and did not function properly. The paint coating was poor/uneven and seemed to have been badly scratched during manufacture and used anyway.Pedal wiring to base unit was loose.Tools were not sufficiently sharpened.Communications to remedy the situation were not replied to.Worse yet, I am expected to pay for return shipping.

Per me rapporto qualita' /prezzo ottimo!

Item looks fairly robust, but the 2-piece tray around the wheel seems quite flimsy and will leak water in seconds. We haven't used it yet, so I can't be 100% on its possible flaws. The control panel works perfectly and the motor does go from 30RPM to 300RPM. The digital display is a nice feature. I only gave this a 4-star rating because we haven't tried it out fully.
