Lightweight, compact, LLLLLOUD, it’s a thing of beauty. Well crafted, I can’t think of anything I’d want different.This is in my EDC bag, will always be my go-to for audible alerts in emergency situations.I will probably get a few more, and they’d make an excellent stocking stuffer for college students and folks who work in service industries or where rowdy people need to be blasted into submission.Folks at the pistol range might want one that would get the attention of folks who have hearing protection, as well.Uncles with no kids might want to give one to a special niece or nephew!If you need a whistle, get this. If you don’t know if you need a whistle, you need this. As far as those things they say “It’s better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it,†this is so compact and easy to carry - but so effective - that I consider it an essential item; and at this price, I think you will, too.

It's 2.25" long by 1" wide, weights 1.2 oz, love the grey color. Comes with a small carabiner. Pretty loud with slight dual tone due to middle pipe being shorter. Will use this for city and neighborhood walks. Will continue to use Fox 40 for outdoor hikes and camping.

This is the ultimate emergency whistle. This three-chamber whistle is extremely loud and very easy to blow even if your breathing is compromised. The whistle is completely over-designed, over-engineered and over-built. You could probably drive a tank over this whistle and it would still work. I wonder how many of the plastic emergency whistles could survive the type of abuse that this whistle seems built to survive. Little details like the recessed star-head screws are very elegant, even if they are a bit over the top. The attached chain and clip make it very easy to attach this whistle to your keyring, jacket zipper or any other handy location. The whistle comes packaged in a very nice tin, which can be re-purposed in many useful ways. My only issue is the weight of this whistle. All that stainless steel is a bit to heavy to have bouncing around as a zipper pull. I would love to see this same whistle done with some lighter-weight material, like maybe some high-quality anodized aircraft aluminum. Because of the weight issue I would have given this whistle 4.5 stars, but since I can't do half stars, I gave it the full five stars. I can live with that.

It's very loud and it's a good whistle it would have been better if it was better made or maybe one piece instead of a bunch of pieces screwed together. I'm constantly checking to make sure none of the screws are coming loose so that it doesn't fall apart on me.

Provided this whistle is genuinely stainless steel & a decent grade of stainless steel to prevent rust, I'm happy. I gave it a test in the kitchen, gave it some wind about 7/10, & it was getting to the point that it was a bit uncomfortable on the ears. No I haven't tried a lot of these newer whistles but the thing seemed loud enough. I'll be replacing all my cheap red plastic whistles on my backpacks with one of these.

Super loud whistle! Seems durable.Only concern is that if you were to use it in an emergency scenario during a hike or a ski trip your lips would freeze to the whistle if temperatures reach0°C. I feel like a bit of Gorilla tape on the top would fix this problem. However I haven't tested this fix
