Purchased to trim the top of holly bushes to about 10ft off the ground. Worked great was able to adjust the head angle and get a nice cut. It would cut the lightweight branches but a couple of the thinker ones of more than a pencil thickness would not cut. I had to pole saw and clip the thinker ones off. I think once the bushes have been cut once and you are just trying to keep the bush the same height it should cut the thinner new growth. As others mentioned it is top heavy with the weight all up at the top. After 20 mins it did start to make your arms hurt. Needs a fairly strong person to operate. Battery life was really good using just the regular battery that I had from a Worx hand trimmer. Great that the batteries are interchangeable between so many Worx products. Pleased I purchased.

Bottom line, it works well.Yes it's a bit heavy and awkward at full extension, but I don't see how it could be designed to avoid that, while still being strong and powerful enough. I was worried that a 20v tool wouldn't be able to prune big bushes, but it cuts surprisingly well. Battery life is good enough for my purposes. The "2-in-1" thing is totally misleading. You might think you can remove the extension and have a normal size trimmer, but no, it doesn't do that, it just telescopes to a mininum length of 7 feet.Like every power tool today, it has a totally unnecessary "safety" interlock which does nothing but make the tool more difficult and dangerous to use. I say "dangerous" because it's very hard to use that thumb release while struggling to hold the tool at full extension. After 5 minutes I gave up, went into the shop and disabled the lock (sorry, Worx lawyers) and now I have a usable tool.Outside of these criticisms it's a good tool that really gets the job done.

I am a 69-year old woman who decided to give up paying for lawn service and have taken it all on myself. This pole trimmer is very nice and I bought it to trim a decorative tree (about 15' tall). The trimmer works fine, but I have to admit it gets heavy for me when the pole is extended. Also, it gets tiring because the arm reach between left arm holding and guiding the trimmer and right hand pushing the power button is kind of wide for me. It is very easy to connect the pole to trimmer, so my solution it I trim a few sprigs as they start growing out, versus waiting until the entire tree needs to be trimmed. My neighbor guy, tried the trimmer and it was easy for him and he loved it!

I have a huge backyard with trees that are very tall and I cannot reach the top. With this trimmer it’s simple. The trimmer is very long and can reach the top of my 13’ tree! The trimmer itself while extend it is a little heavy for a woman, but my husband can easily do the job.It cuts very nicely. I also use it to custom trim my ground cover. Battery life is long

I have 12 foot holly bushes. I usually balance on a ladder and reach with a corded trimmer, after so many cut cords I had to do something different. I found the worx trimmer, it uses the same battery as I am already using for my trimmer so it is a bonus. Trimmer blade adjusts to create a nice flat top on your bush. The unit extends nicely. A little heavy on the blade end once extended but you have to expect that. I have had great experience with reliability and use of the worx products. Do yourself a favor and get all the worx products for trimming, blowing, etc. with the power share battery - you always have backup power.

Had to cut the top of a 12 foot hedge. Standing on a ladder I cut the shoots off. Requires muscle strength to reach that high. Often, I succeeded only by lifting, swiping at young shoots and then lowering the tool down as I could not continue to hold it up that far. Works great for cutting the side of high hedges. Can cut 1/3 " branch thickness if pressed upon. Topped a much lower hedge, reaching shoots five feet away from my left arm that steadied the tool. Strengths: reaches far, battery time before recharging, adjustable cutting blade makes for 60 to 180 degree angle. Weaknesses: to cut the branches 5 ft away hedge top it required me to hold and wields the tool while my wife pushed the trigger to activate and maintain the back and forth cutting edges. Requires muscle for distant cutting. Still would buy again. Work X is a dependable brand with many tools (own 4 different ones) using same battery

Heavy, little clunky but it got small jobs done well enough. After maybe 15-20 uses it started making some good awful noises and stopped working. I like most of worx products, this one is by far the worst.

I purchased this item to avoid climbing on a ladder. Works very well for reaching without the ladder. Awkward to use in its shorter length. Better to use a basic trimmer for the lower parts of the tree

Dislike: awkward length and weight balancing. This is not your 75 yr old Poppa's bush trimmer. Unless he's young for his age, and can pop zits on his face by doing arm curls. It's heavy, for starters. Even with the large amount of ABS holding it together, it's hefty.Second, when I folded the head over, my forearms were quick to let me know this position wasn't going to last.It became obnoxious to work with.Third: The design of the safety lock out. If you lose your grip in any way, the very light, tactile pull trigger will disconnect.Like: sheer cutting power and battery life.I took down about 25 foot of interweaving, stiff and dead creeping brush, about 6 foot high and easily a foot in density. There was some see-saw back n forth, but it hugged it's way through well enough. But I was dead tired by the end of it.If this machine was a little lighter, with more rearward bias, it'd be 4 stars, maybe 5

Trims well. Would be very beneficial if it came with a shoulder strap to support weight.
